Missing buttons and icons

I've noticed over the last couple of days that increasing numbers of buttons and icons are disappearing, although they still seem to work

I've also noticed that, since this morning, the background to the forum remains pale blue.

Non of these things are affecting the operation or accessibility of the forum

Are there problems with the Proboards servers again?

Hi Grant,

I have seen no problems from my end of the Internet today so in order to guage if it's something at your end or elsewhere, I'm afraid we'll have to await any further reports about this.

The bottom row of icons incidentally are hosted on the HWI website, ever since we had some issues with Photobucket last year. The rest are at Proboards.

Still having this problem

Thought it might have had something to do with the relaunched website so have just deleted the forum link from my 'favourites' and resaved it but the problem remains.

Incidentally, I don't have this problem with the All Angels Forum.

Hi Grant,

You can see where the icons are hosted by right-clicking on them and checking the image properties.

Only the bottom line of the main block of icons (when you post, quote or modify a message) are hosted on the HWI website, and one or two of the general forum icons, the rest are at Proboards.

Which icons specifically are giving you problems? Which browser are you using?

I'm missing all 7 icons from the top menu bar beneath the banner and all the second row of smilies. When I click on properties on one of the latter, it shows the following address:-

I'm also missing members ranking icons but not the 'mark as read' icons.

Also ther is no grey forum background - the whole thing remains light blue Everything still works OK - just doesn't look very pretty!

Sorry Martin, but the problem arose before Eyjafjallajokull erupted

Hello everyone

Seems I've solved the problem of missing buttons and icons and funny colours all by myself!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

I've been using IE8 for a few weeks and have not fully worked my way through all its add ons. There is something called "compatibility view" and I though to myself "wonder if this might help?" and it did!

I had to click on it for each of the areas where I was having a problem - The Home page - The post reply page - and the members page. Now everything is back to normal. At least until I log off - have to see what happens after that

Hi all...

Apologies about the missing menu buttons, signature images, some smilies etc... many of the images are hosted on Photobucket which is down at the present time.  

Thank you for your patience as their engineering team are troubleshooting the problem.

In the meantime, you can still use your mouse to hover from the centre of the blue bar where the buttons should be, if you need them.

Alternatively, please use the links below until the buttons return...

Hi Joe,

Well, I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one experiencing this issue. I just automatically assumed it was my end, because it usually is. For example, the past 2 days, I have been unable to load the Weather Channel website (weather.com), so I just assumed this was a related issue.

I thought I wouldn't be able to log in, but I found a way. If you hit the Reply button at the bottom of a page, it'll come up with a window asking if you want to log in, register, etc. So I was able to log in by doing that. Of course I'm unable to see if I have any messages. Notifications are easy, because you just see what topics have been replied to or not, and then find your last post to make sure you didn't miss any posts... of course, there are only a handful of us that last thing would work for, since not a lot of us actually post!
