Camilla slipped from 50 to no. 80 in the UK album chart this week, no. 8 in the classical artist chart, sales are about 6,000 making about 16,000 to date. Dave Thanks for that, Dave.

Thanks for that Nicola. It's great to see for those of us who missed it or couldn't get up in time ! Like you I couldn't make it to her Prince's Foundation concert at St James's Piccadilly (but have no fear, me and Ms Kerslake will cross paths next year, it's top of my to-do list!) but there is a recording of the whole thing on Classic FM at 9pm on Tuesday 22nd December. With the Barbican on Monday that's 2 great concerts in 2 days ! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif By the way, how long did it take her website to approve your account ? I registered 2 weeks ago, still heard nothing but I expect she has thousands of followers.

........ By the way, how long did it take her website to approve your account ? I registered 2 weeks ago. Hi Jeff, I am in the same situation. It would be in their interest to get things moving, there only seems a few people that have posted ! Yes it is also on my list of things to do if she 'Comes Up North' next year ! Best Wishes, Graham

I've seen several of her TV appearances and I wish she wouldn't keep mentioning stalking and restraining orders. I know she's joking but it could put people off ! She's clearly a driven, determined young woman, some may say ruthless but it's a hard industry to break into. She said it took her 5 years to get noticed.

It's her story though, Jeff. It will keep being mentioned. I wanted to avoid it in my interview - I didn't ask about it, but she brought it up herself. She's probably been told what to say by her PR team.

This sort of stuff turns me off big tme. X Factor contenders have to have a sob story. I don't want that to spread to Classical Crossver.
I liked Camilla's "In the Bleak Midwinter", that shows she has a fine voice. But for me to take her seriously she has to sing one of Hayley's songs better than Hayley. And she has never come close to be honest.
The more I hear of her, the more I think she is a fifth rate Hayley imitator without the charm or spirituality. It is a bit like comparing Oasis to The Beatles.

I'm sorry you haven't warmed to her, Martin. Me, I prefer Camilla's voice to Hayley's, but obviously, I prefer Hayley overall, as she is more creative and offers a lot more to the genre. Voice isn't everything to me, but if it was, Camilla would win hands down. I'm not sure about the "fifth rate imitator". What gives you the impression that she's trying to imitate Hayley? I'm also sorry that someone has to sing something better than Hayley in order for you take them seriously, too. You mustn't take any artist seriously in that case, as Hayley sings most songs on top form. Her meeting with Gary isn't a sob story. It's just a story. Every artist has a story as to how they got into singing. Unless Hayley busking is now a sob story? I guess I'm just not following you? Just want to know what you mean?

Martin,
I have been fortunate in meeting Camilla on two occasions and she is certainly charming (as is her Mother). So far we have not had a chance to discuss spirituality. In true Hayley style, Camilla remembered my name on our second meeting. I have now seen Camilla at three very different venues and none of those was my local Waitrose!

Well Nicola, , she sings a lot of the same songs as Hayley does, (but then I suppose that doesn't count as imitation in Crossover, since they all do it). But I can't see the point of ever recording a song unless you can do it better than anyone has before. This to me is always the problem with Karaoke like the X Factor. To my ears, there are very few songs that Hayley has ever recorded that have ever been done better by anyone else. And that includes Camilla, who I acknowledge has a fine voice. And as long as she sticks to songs that Hayley hasn't recorded, I would probably enjoy her music. But hearing her sing any of Hayley's songs just makes me want to switch her off and play Hayley's version I'm afraid. This means listening to her can be a painful experience and not one I enjoy. I want to enjoy the music I am listening to, not find myself comparing it to something else. If she made sure she never sang anything that Hayley has recorded, it might be different. For some reason I don't have the same problem with Katherine or Faryl. Not quite sure why. For sure I would rather listen to Hayley, but they don't wind me up in the same way, even when they sing the same songs. But come to think of it, imn my opinion the worst songs on Faryls first album are Amazing Grace and Shanandoah, perhaps for the same reason. Martin

I love these videos uploaded on Youtube..whilst Hayley is my absolute favourite singer of all time followed by Jonathan Ansell, Camilla comes in a close third... I think it's important to have an overall favourite singer, but to enjoy others without compairing them to your favourite... I think there are qualities in Camilla's voice that are similar to Hayley, but they seem separate to me...Hayley has an amazing voice, and so does Camiila, for different reasons and qualities my favourite song of hers is How Can I Keep from singing, to the extent I am actually excited when a Waitrose advert comes on TV.. I can't stop singing it to myself...and Sleigh ride. Recently we've been allowed to listen to our MP3 players in the library at school and I've been listening How Can I Keep From Singing by Camilla as I found my dad had converted some of the songs from her album before i gave it to my mum...and to Winter Magic, and have been receiving some really weird looks when i find myself singing out loud to them! It's so embarrassing..I can't sing at all... .I wish Hayley would sing on an advert like Camilla has.. .I hope she does a concert close to me at some point... I'm regretting buying her CD only to give it to my mum and telling her to give it to my grandma to give it to me for Christmas, although Christmas isn't that far off now...it's still hard waiting for it...no where near as hard as waiting for a Hayley CD but nevertheless hard enough I think Camilla's on This Morning next week with Jonathan Ansell, my friend sent me an email today telling me she'd read it in a magazine, does anyone else have any ideas about this? I know Jonathan has launched a singing carol competition on This Morning recently....but that's all best wishes Sing

I'm still confused Martin. Camilla's first album tracklist only has a few songs in common with Hayley. 'She Moved Through the Fair' and 'Rain'? Even if you include the second disc, it's just 'Silent Night' and 'Abide With Me'. :/ Camilla is very fond of Hayley, I know that much, and though their voices have a lot in common, she hasn't really taken any specific material from Hayley. Still, if Camilla's voice displeases you, then you don't have to explain yourself. That's that. It might be that you are trying to find an explanation but can't really pin exactly what it is, and that's fine.
