I hope this doesn't mean she'll be dropped. Gary Barlow really believes in her, so I hope he sees the error was with the sales team. Artists have been dropped after reaching the 20 area, and Camilla, I'm guessing, is probably sitting at around 50.
Not a good time to release a debut artist up against The Priests and Susan Boyle. She would have done a lot better if it was kept to the 16th. There was no comp there - apart from Leona, but that's a very different type of music.

Hello Nicola, she's no. 50, which is OK and about where I expected... it's a BIG sales week this week hence the lower than normal chart position for any given sales. No. 4 classical artist (after Priests, Katherine, Fron). Cheers, Dave

Hi Nicola, The classical chart is weekly, just the same as the main charts so updated on Sunday evening. Classic FM are always 6 days late but I can see the classical artist chart from Sunday evening as I'm a subscriber. Camilla may have sold 12,000+ copies this week (based on last year's sales for the equivalent week) and that might even have squeezed her into the top 10 in mid September... so not as bad as it sounds. Not bad at all, really. Dave

Camilla sales update. There is no exact sales number given the Music week report but we can deduce that it was about 10,000.
Total album sales were nearly 7% lower than the same week last year (in spite of the massive increase at no. 1), which partially explains it.

Anyone out buying an album this week would have bought Susan Boyle's. :/ In that case, I have fulfilled my lifelong abmbition to be different! I didn't buy Susan's album but I did buy Camilla's on Monday. Jolly good it is too! Roger Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so, Roger ! Have you seen her youtube video of Bleak Midwinter ? Gorgeous ! Like you I'm not buying Susan Boyle. Hers is not a voice that moves me, keeps me awake at night or leads to compulsive album playing like CK does ! I'm buying multiple copies of Camilla's album for Xmas presents so in my small way I'll help to push her up the chart ! Did Dave say No.50 ? Last week she was 40 in Sainsbury's but I'll soon change that !! Anyone who hasn't bought her album yet should head to Borders which is closing down (another victim of online retailing, I should try it sometime !) and everything is 20% off. In the meantime she's on the One Show tomorrow (Weds) BBC1 at 7pm and on This Morning ITV 10.30am on 7 December. Both Camilla and Faryl are very busy this week. No sign of Hayley tho.

Camilla just gave an update on Twitter that mentions Hayley:
"Today I'm gracing the stage with Hayley Westenra, The Soldiers, Faryl, The Coldstream Guards and Tevor MacDonald! How exciting! X"

As Jeff has mentioned, Camilla is on the BBC1 The One Show tonight. The main guest happens to be Gary Barlow so it is quite clear how Camilla has been able to get onto this nationwide (and very popular) programme to promote her new album. Good luck to her. Now why doesn't Hayley also have a fairy godmother? Martin

Actually it wasn't much. She didn't sing and Adrian Chiles even forgot her name. "Thanks to Gary and her as well !!"

As previously mentioned by Nicola, Camilla appeared at "Taste of Christmas" at ExCel last weekend. On a bandstand in a somewhat noisy exhibition hall (somewhat reminiscent of the acoustics of Shepherd's Bush), Camilla performed: She Moved Through The Fair White Christmas How Can I Keep From Singing (the exhibition was sponsored by Waitrose)Rule The World Camilla kindly allowed me to video the event (What a very nice lady). Here is one that I prepared earlier: White ChristmasCamilla appears tonight and tomorrow at the Hammersmith Apollo. She will be singing three solo songs and two with Il Divo. (Whilst some people are not keen on Il Divo they have introduced the odd support act to a wider audience!)

Thank you so much for that Drew. It's a wonder how people continue bustling around the background! I would have stood still, transfixed! I wish I could have been there. I keep missing Camilla. Good news. You can download a brand new track for £1 called 'Cantero' for charity. www.merrychristmas.co.uk/home.php
