Well, Jackie has a new digital single out, "The Rains Of Castamere." I kinda like it. However, apparently there's been some buzz among a few of her fans, calling the photo of her on the cover "inappropriate." I don't see anything wrong with it, honestly. -Taylor i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Jackie is getting quite grown up. Here's her new music video for "Think of Me." Her voice has developed a little, but not in leaps and bounds.

She's still only 14, correct? I think we will start seeing maturation more in maybe 4 or 5 years. I still like her music, though. And "new child star" can probably be taken out if the thread title now. Jackie's been around for a few years. -Taylor

Jackie is on America's Got Talent tonight, as Ross said. The live show on NBC is starting 15 mnutes later than scheduled.

Jackie's album came out here in the US today. I'm having a listen on Spotify and I do like what I hear. It's definitely more crossover than classical. Her voice has matured: she has more breath support and control than she did a few years ago.

On second listen, there are many tracks where Jackie is quite under pitch, which detracts from the overall enjoyment for me. I just wonder who they have listening in the recording studio, and how something like that went unnoticed.

[Slight angst warning] My curiosity got the better of me and I watched a video of Jackie Evancho singing Dark Waltz. I don't know why I did that. Hayley sings it so much better. IMO, the discrepancy between Hayley's version and Jackie's is disgusting. Why she attempted it, I can't begin to guess.

I'm sure it was because she is a fan of Hayley, and she likes the song. I first heard of her when her dad posted videos of her singing opera on the official forum. I actually thought her voice sounded much nicer back then, less operatic. It does help her fans to become aware of the original singer, though some of them seem to think Jackie is. And you know, people tend to like the version they heard first better, no matter who sang it first, or how good it is. I've seen comments below Hayley's various Dark Waltz videos commenting on how Jackie's is better.
