Jackie is currently in Japan for a couple of solo concerts and has been requested to perform a special performance for the Emperor and Emperoress of Japan and Royal Family. The honours do not get much bigger than that. In my mind that is even better than a Grammy. What next, the Pope and/or the Queen of England??

I think this is good news for all CC artists as it may just be another door opened for worldwide CC talent to enter. Perhaps this is a way in which CC artists such as Hayley to break the US market wide open by coming through a side door.
Should Hayley break that barrier then it would be very nice indeed if she would visit the COOL colony to the north (preferably starting on Canada's west coast).
This is my dream and you are not invited to criticize it.

It's ofical Jackie will be singing on Dancing With The Stars April 30. Hopefully for Kathrine Jenkins. Jackie will also be a guest singer on Canada's got Talent on the final day (they always save the best for last).
I look for Jackie's career to really take off when she turns 16 as the government has a lot of restrictions on her because of her age.

Martin please don't take this the wrong way. Hayley was nowhere near the level off Jackie at that age. Hayley will always be my favorite; but I think you're mixing apples and oranges. Hayley is an an enormous talent, but Jackie is an anomaly. Jackie iis the Mozart of vocalists. In no way did I post this other to state my opinion. However i don't think it's a valid point of view that Jackie is imitating Hayley. Larry

Larry, have you heard Hayley sing "Groovy Kind of Love" from when she was 10 or 11? I found it to be astoundingly good, so crystal-clear and pitch-perfect. This would be the closest comparison between Jackie and Hayley. In my opinion Hayley had the better voice at that age.
In Jackie's version of "Dark Waltz" she sounds too grown up and too vibrato-heavy and noticeably lacking in breath support in key phrases. She sounds like a mezzo soprano in her 40s but without the ability to sustain notes all the way. Hayley's version of DW has a much sweeter and more delicate tone that is fully supported.
Jackie has a long way to go before full breath support sets in, and until it does it will always sound paradoxical to me.

We don't really know what Hayey was like at 10/11 years old - we have no recordings. Jackie is stunning I agree - a real phenomenon. That's why I posted that link.
If we are talking Walking in the Air, then Hayley's version of Eternal Flame, at 12 years old, is fabulous. Hayley and Jackie are different people, and I would venture to suggest that Jackie has had the better coaching. Their voices are different, and Jackie has yet to develop a distinctive personal style like Hayley - I'm sure Hayley hadn't at that age either. Groovy Kind of Love comes from Walking in the Air too, and she was 12 (unless Steve, you have access to a recording I have never heard, if so I would be very interested to hear it). Yes Jackie has a long way to go. For her age she is phenomenal. I am going to enjoy watching her develop, just as I did with Hayley.

Martin, there was a video of Hayley at age 11 singing "Groovy Kind of Love" live on stage somewhere. I think Belinda posted it years ago but it might not be available anymore. Whatever the case, it was evident then that she was all that and more as a vocalist.

Libby, she is singing a song that Hayley did the definitive version of. She is singing it and intoning it pretty much as Hayley did, only the voice is different. The espression, the phrasing are the same. It is a karaoke job. But that is only one song. It is not a lot different from what Hayley did with Wuthering Heights, and some other songs at the start of her career. It was only later that Hayley developed her own unique style and made other people's songs her own. A lot of Jackie's other performances are nothing like Hayley. This is a phase Jackie is going through. Exploring her influences. One that Hayley went through. Singing other peoples songs in a similar way. Hayley grew out of it. So will Jackie I am sure.
Jackie has something special I feel that bodes well for a great future.

Haha, you called Larry Libby. I'm glad to know I'm never far from your mind, Martin. Anyway, I find it a bit surprising that you say that Jackie had better coaching than Hayley did. Umm, I don't think so! Jackie is being coached to be an opera star. Hayley was just coached on good singing techniques, as far as we know. Would you have wanted Hayley to be coached to be an opera singer? A terrible prospect, in my opinion!

I am a Jackie fan because I managed to find and follow her rise from the outset of her appearance on AGT. I would probably feel the same way and likely would have been the same type of fan had I been fortunate enough to find Haley or even Sarah B. at the beginning of their careers and their phenomenal rides which are not over by a long shot.
I grew into classical music later in life and sorely wish it had of been much earlier but I'm glad I finally made it to this plateau of musical enjoyment. I really do not have the time nor the inclination to research the many talented classical crossover artists and make a judgement as to whom was better at a certain age as compared to another. Every artist is at least a bit unique and deserves my thanks and praise for the enjoyment their talents bring to me.
I would recomment that time wasted in research and judgement of talent from our preferred genre of music could be better spent listening to the sounds being delivered to us by such beautiful people as Sarah, Haley, Katherine, Jackie, Andrea, and a host of other CC artists. I guess I'm too greedy as I want it from all and not just one or two.
