After reading the posts on the forum I see that Jackie is putting her voice through quite a remarkable display of vocal gymnastics. Is she an anomaly or is she being used up for profit for as long as her pipes hold up then cast into the dustbin of exploited artists. Our entertainment industry is quite good at doing this.

All I know is that Jackie's parents are extremely vigilant about protecting her voice. The vocal teachers they've hired have been expressly for that purpose, though I think Jackie's mother is the one mostly working with Jackie when she is not recording. Yvie Burnett has also worked with Jackie extensively. Just Google her name to see her credentials.
One thing they have done with Jackie is have her sing some songs in a lower key, to the point some commentators are saying she must be a mezzo soprano. However, that is incorrect, she does have the range of a full soprano.

I have always said she is a soprano and sounds like one (a little bit on the dramatic side), even if she has surprised me in All I Ask Of You by changing quite a lot her timbre and in some parts even sounding like a light tenor, but that's just one more abbility she has and doesn't change the fact her usual timbre is that of a soprano (even singing low).
I wouldn't worry too much about her voice, we've been told by several people she is taking very good care of it...

Lovely cover! I am sure it will be worth listening, but I will wait a little to decide on buying it.

So Jackie's birthday is the day before Hayley's. What is it about this part of april that produces such talented singers?

Tears are in my eyes... May be the most beautiful and emotive recording of this song ever... I can't believe it, a 10 (now 11) years old with such a deep understanding of music and being able to transmit so much emotion...

That was a great version of Angel. listening to the song you would have thought she was a lot older.

What an amazing recording. I could believe that was Susan Boyle or even Katherine Jenkins. For an 11 year old it is unbeleivable. Are we sure she doesn't use voice doubles . Does she realise how much better she is already than the likes of Gaga? This is real talent, not gimmickry Martin D

Hi MartinD, haven't heard the versions of Susan or Katherine, but wouldn't be surprised if I considered Jackie the better one... May listen to them tomorrow. I think it is way betterr than the original, of course, without forgetting that they are totally different versions and singing styles...

I confirm what I said. Couldn't find Susan Boyle's cover (if she has done one), but listening to a couple of songs, she is SO far away from Jackie that it's impossible to compare her with Jackie.
As for Katherine Jenkins, well, I listened to her cover and it's very nice, I actually like it a lot Indeed, after hearing some songs, I must admit I like Katherine's turn towards pop in Believe than her previous works, her pop singing is, in my opinion, much more expressive, than her operatic one. As for Angel, her rendition is very neat and even sweet, however, Jackie's is so much powerful and shows so much more emotion. Actually, if you look at Wikipedia, you'll find out that the original meaning of the song is rather sad and dramatic, I don't know if Jackie is aware of that, but she really gets right the feeling and transmits it with such power. It is stunning.

I really dislike Angelis, but ironically enough, they perform my favourite version of the song (I even used it for my Nan's funeral). www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUn62E2MLLAI didn't think much of Katherine's rendition until I saw it in concert. The visuals and the acrobats she did with it just made it stunning to me. Ultimately though, I have heard the song far too many times by far too many artists to be too moved by it. The song's about a heroin addict who dies from an overdose. More specifically Sarah McLachlan wrote it for the Smashing Pumpkins drummer. But with the amount of covers it's had, I think most artists take on a different interpretation to Sarah's original intent.

Hey guys, A fan I know, Phil Madden, has made the most stunning video using Jackie's 'Angel' about the devastation of Japan. Please check it out and post the video on your facebooks/twitters. The Evancho's are aware of it. x You can't watch this and not cry. www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-sYOdN560c
