Yes, there is a very beautiful programme for the "Winter Magic" tour - haven't got mine yet, but I think it would be unfair to post scans of it just yet as that would spoil the surprise for people who have yet to go to one of the concerts.

Scans may also discourage a few people from buying one and we wouldn't want that now would we?

I promise there will be scans eventually so please be patient

Letter: 'Hayley would make a great ambassador for Peterborough' - 01/12/09

I was slightly surprised that the excellent Hayley Westenra concert last week in Peterborough Cathedral only got a small mention in the entertainment section of Saturday's ET.
Congratulations are due to the Dean and staff at the cathedral for securing this the first concert in Hayley's "Winter Magic" tour, which is visiting a series of historic venues across the country. It was the first time I have seen one of Hayley's concerts live, and I was really impressed by her amazing voice, and also at how she has matured from the Kiwi child prodigy of a few years ago into surely one of the most talented singers in the world at present. I was also impressed by the time she spent signing autographs and talking to her fans after the concert.

Hayley has quite an impressive record in raising money for charitable causes which are close to her heart, including the Royal British Legion and a number of children's charities. She is also New Zealand ambassador for UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Emergency Fund. She seems to like Peterborough (this is, I understand, her second concert in the city), so maybe someone should sign her up to support a worthy local cause, for example the Peterborough Environment City Trust?

Hayley's Christmas cd Winter Magic has just been released, but my favourite is still her original album Pure from six years ago which contains some really inspirational Maori songs from her native New Zealand.
