I was very disappointed when HWW shut down, because I had enjoyed chatting live with you fellow Hayley fans. I noticed some people hoping for a new chat room. So, I had an idea. Matt (enthusiastic) has set up a chat room on his site, HayleyOnline ( www.hayleyonline.net/index.php). I've noticed very little activity there at any given time, if any at all. So, I thought, why not use his chatroom for a new live Hayley chat? I've been discussing it with him, and he'd like to do it, too, although he's letting me figure out the details (I've been helping out on his site, too). I've tested out the chatroom, and it works just fine. It's open all the time, so you can go there anytime to check it out, too. You don't even have to be a member there or even use a password. So now, the question is, should we schedule the chat times just like the old one? I'd actually like to start it a couple of hours earlier than it was before, because it started kind of late in the evening for people in the UK and Europe, so they could only be on a few hours without staying up half the night. I do tend to get scheduled to work every single Friday, though, but Friday seems like the best day, since most people don't have to work on weekends. I can always request the day off! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif And, when should our first live chat be? I'm thinking July 10th or August 14th. Your opinions will be greatly appreciated, and I hope when we get these things sorted out, we'll see you all there!

My wife asked me the other Friday night "Are you not supposed to be in the chatroom ? " Not that she is a big fan of it as it often goes on hours past midnight . Yes it is a good way for fans to have a bit of a laugh and communicate without the difficulty of different accents. some other members did suggest a Skype conference setting but that might be just a bit much . I'm not that familliar with skype and only have a camera and microphone on a laptop which I seldom use as the wireless connection is a bit slow and disconnects and reconnects intermittently.

Good idea Libby, but consider the time differences for the U.K., New Zealand, and Australia.......TimJ

Hi Libby
Although I didn't attend the chat in recent months, that's not to say I won't take part in the future. I think it is a very worthwhile facility and if Matt is happy to do it with your support then .....
Go for it!!
Best wishes Grant

Hi Libby,
Well, you can certainly count on my support, provided it doesn't happen whilst I am at work! Yes, it should cettainly be scheduled. HWW was always available, but there was nobody there eexcept at the scheduled times.
And yes Paul, I have the same problem with my wife. I haven't told her that HWW chat is no more!
But me, I don't mind! On Friday nights I can stay up all night if need be, since no work in the moring and I am a night owl who would never go to bed before 3am if I didn't have to get up for work (or church) the next day. So the HWW chats suited me very well.
Libby, if you and Matt can sort something out, I will try my best to be there. Those chats were always enjoyable.
Martin The times need to be well publicied, so that as many as possible know about them.

Good idea Libby, but consider the time differences for the U.K., New Zealand, and Australia.......TimJ Hi Tim, I looked into time zones last night to try and come up with a better time for the chat...(when I saw the proposed time) To tell you the truth, the original time of 8.30pm Friday UK time (I think), which is 7.30am Saturday here in NZ, is about the only time that could feasibly work...I guess that's the reason it was selected for HWW chats. I was considering the time in the UK, NZ, and the west coast of USA (Where Libby is from). You mentioned Australia...and I suspect it would be impossible to find a "normal waking hours" time for everyone with Australia included in the mix. Jono EDIT: Well it depends how late people want to stay up. One option could be: 6pm NZ, 7am UK, 11pm USA - west, and 4pm Sydney. USA would obviously be a day behind, and it would not work for anyone living further east over there... I guess not everyone can win..

Okay, maybe only 1 hour earlier at the most. Still, you don't have to come right when it starts. I've often been there right on the dot, and been the only one there!
I appreciate your responses so far! I'd like to get some of the newer people to participate, too, as well as more of the official forum members.

Hi Libby
Just a thought but does the chat have to be at the same time every month? If it was well publicised, I don't see any reason why alternate months couldn't favour different time zones.

Good idea Grant. Or we could even do it more than once a month. Or even if we don't, there is no limit on how long it could go on till. With HWW, you used to get the UK folk around early on (except me, who usually came in late) then the US members would start to appear after midnight UK time. For some reason the antipodeans seemed to be earlirt than I was, even though it must have been brutally early in the morning over there.

Hi Libby
Thats a great idea and I for one would very much like to continue with the monthly Friday chat. Why not go for the 10th July and yes, maybe an hour earlier to help those of us in the UK but so that its not too early for those on the other side of the world.
Best wishes Mark

Well, I can't do 10th July, since i will be away on holiday. But I will be coming back from holiday on 11th so that I can go to Beaumanor Hall, so if you keep it going long enough who knows!

Hi Libby! I would like the monthly chat to be continued so I like your idea very much. The Friday is fine for me. Even if not everybody might have time we should see how the new chat will be accepted during the next months. Thomas

I most likely won't be able to make July 10th either, since I already know I have that Thurs. off. It's too late to request it off.
I think if we had the chat at different times all the time, it might get a little confusing. It's easier for everybody to remember if it's the same time. More than once a month would be good, though, because the people who couldn't come the one of the times might be able to come the next time. Still, the months go by fast enough that it usually doesn't seem like a very long time had elapsed since the last one.

twice a month sounds good to me, Libby you could have one at the same time on 2nd Friday every month, like before. and change the other one up every month til we find the best day and times.
I do have 1 small request. Please check out the chat room and make sure it works. Before the chat sessions. Also learn how to use it.
Also under nick (for login) please find a name you can use. No password needed.
Thanks Again

I like Matt's suggestion of twice a month - whether it be the same or alternating times. Looking forward to the first chat!
