Thanks for that Richard. Great to see those aircraft again. Living fairly close to an RAF base, I remember seeing Lancaters and then Lincoln bombers flying quite low on training missions. We lived on the fist ridge at the edge of the Fens, so we often saw these aircraft clearing the ridge by only a couple of hundred feet. Great memories.

Hello Dave, Tony and all,
During last Saturday's Trooping the Colour, the aircraft formation forming an aerial salute to Her Majesty's birthday at the end of the ceremony comprised partly of a Lancaster bomber, Spitfires and the Red Arrows.
The entire ceremony is in five parts on YouTube; this fifth part contains a portion of the preparation of the bombers for the D-Day anniversary. Later on in the video, the flypast salute over Buckingham Palace is magnificient!!

I enjoyed your Autumn photos sing, thanks for posting them. Oddly, the leaves down here on the south coast are only just starting to carpet fields and footpaths, and it's December - Winter now! Still no air frosts either! Meanwhile, as I mentioned in another thread, I presented myself with an 'Black Friday' week early Christmas present, here's one of 'em and here's my first proper shot (only the lens is new), the plane was about a mile up and away from me and is my new desktop. Cheers, Dave

What a shot of that plane, Dave! The clarity is amazing. That is a beauty. And, you have it balanced so geometrically well in the picture. BobS

Great photo Dave. What shutter speed did you use? You seem to have almost frozen the movement of the propellers.

Martin D Thanks guys, I was lucky on Saturday with the weather, sunset colouring and the position of the plane! Martin, 300mm, f4, 1/500th, ISO 800. Worked out quite well, I got myself a new desktop! Cheers, Dave

But my personal connection with HSJS1 means that has to be No. 1 in my book. What is the connection between "Dark Side of the Moon" and HSJS1? It's pretty obvious really. Martin D
