Welcome to the forums Hayleyfan88 . That's wonderful to hear her pronunciation is so accurate. She obviously takes a lot of pride in making sure to do justice to songs not of her native language as shown by the volume of her fans over there.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hayley's management/record company are looking at ways to capitalise on this as we speak. They've been very clever with the Japanese market, so maybe that might transfer over into other areas of Asia?
A few more tour dates would be clever... if only Hayley had the time!! Perhaps she will make a point of going to Taiwan when she releases her 4th international album?

Hi Jillian Yes, good points and I'm sure they will try to capitalise. The concert is one obvious example and I'm sure a lot of her CDs will be sold in the next few weeks. Hayley is of course already known in Taiwan and some of her existing albums have sold well there. Other nearby places she has sold well in are Hong King, Singapore, South Korea and especially, of course, Japan but I think the opportunities in places like mainland China are very limited because of the massive amount of music piracy there, which seems to be still largely unchecked. Meanwhile... I have now uploaded the high defininition version of "The Moon Represents My Heart" but again, as with Amazing Grace, you really need a screen width definition greater than 1024 pixels to see the improvement over the previous high quality version. Hayley & Shin - The Moon Represents My Heart in HD from HWI, 1280x720, 114MB, video 4mbps xvid, audio 320kbps .mp2. This version gets an "HD" tag on YouTube ( when YT processing is complete, not yet! Done.)... which is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eueEqdTz7iU Once again, please click click everyone, to get the YT view count and search ranking up! Next... oh yes, later today I'll do "We Are The Champions" in HD, including a fireworks extract at the end, which I think will be the last one, then I'll make a playlist out of them. Nearly there, phew! Cheers, Dave

The Moon Represents My Heart
Part A (Shin) You ask how deeply I love you. How much I love you. My affection is real. My love is true. The moon represents my heart.
(Hayley) You ask how deeply I love you. How much I love you. My affection does not waver. My love does not change. The moon represents my heart .
Part B - 1 (Shin) Just a gentle kiss and it touched my heart. A period of time when our affection was deep, Has made me miss you until now.
Part B - 2 (Hayley) You ask how deeply I love you. How much I love you. Go think about it. Go and have a look [at the moon], The moon represents my heart.
Repeat Part B ¡V 1 (Shin)
Repeat Part B ¡V 2 (Hayley)
Repeat (Hayley & Shin) Go think about it. Go and have a look [at the moon], The moon represents my heart.
PS: There are lots of different versions in English. I think this is the best, maybe someone can help.

By the way, Shin even pronounced the wrong words. ("de" have to pronounce "di" in this song) Hayley had no mistake. I'm so proud of Hayley!!

hayleyfan88,
Thanks for the translation of the lyrics to "The Mood Represents My Heart". It is a very beautiful song and I like it more each time I listen to it.
I'm pleased to hear that her pronunciation of was so accurate. Hayley is an incredible person who seems to do well at anything she attempts. I am very proud of her too.

.....The song and performance are growing on me and I wondered if you can write a few words about Shin, so we know who he is. I assume that he is a well known pop singer from Taiwan.. but please correct me if I am wrong! ........ Cheers, Dave Hi, Dave I never heard of either Shin or his band before this performance. I have done a google search, and he is a Taiwanese rock singer, aged 38. In addition, there is a forum with some additional informations about this singer. Please click on the highlights for details. I also feel that the title of this song, The Moon Represents My Heart, is quite strange as being translated from Chinese word by word. I am also always confused with its actual meaning with this phrase in the lyric. I realize that the moon itself stands for “pure” and “true” in Chinese literature. The title might mean “It's True In My Heart”. I am not really sure. If anyone knows its exact meaning, please let me know. Hayley sang the song, The Moon Represents My Heart, in the event on that evening so beautifully that her fans, who will be present in her concert on Oct 3, 2009 in Taipei, are quite anxious if she would sing this song as solo again for the concert encore. This concert happens to be on the same night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the fifteenth day of the eighth month of Chinese lunar calendar, one of the very important festival in Chinese society. The moon is the significant symbol for this festival. Hopefully she will. Always Fred

The title might mean “It's True In My Heart”. I am not really sure. If anyone knows its exact meaning, please let me know. The use of 'represents' in the English title does sound literal but it does reflect the true meaning of the original Chinese title. The song was made famous by the Taiwanese singer Teresa Tang who passed away in 1995. When I looked at the lyrics of the song, as you can see in the translated version posted above, the moon was only vaguely connected to the song. However I think whoever wrote the lyric intended to make a poetic connection to the love he wanted to express. I think the message he wanted to tell is something like 'think of our time together and remember/ look at the moon, then you will know how deeply I love you'. Sounds old-school yea, but very romantic. Tin

Has anyone heard any estimate of the size of the crowd for this event? Hi Jon, I read 50,000 somewhere, I can't recall the link though (it may even have been in this thread). Thanks very much Fred and Hayleyfan88 for all your information! Meanwhile, I've uploaded the 6th and final 'Hayley' video... but i still have to work out how to get them properly onto the main site, I may have to downsize them first. We Are The Champions in HD (Hayley, Russell, Shin, Tiger Huang) 1280x720 xvid 4mbps 150MB. It includes about a minute of the fireworks display at the end. Youtube version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0IxeC3kY1UYouTube playlist of all six videos: www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=71EB7F6FA490CA16I have to say, I've never heard Hayley sing as powerfully as in We Are The Champions before, she really "went for it" at times and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying herself! Cheers, Dave

Another quality video Dave, thanks.
Finally got to hear the whole song! Wasn't very impressed with it though...their voices didn't mix well at all in my opinion.
They sounded good when they each did their solo parts, especially Hayley, Shin and Russell...though I wasn't too impressed with the other lady.

Hi Dave Fantastic effort all round providing us with 6 scintillating videos - of course Hayley's presence made them all the more scintillating , but you have done a great job and I know it's taken a lot of time and effort to get them to us - I hope you think it was worth it because I certainly do!! It feels as though this whole experience has been amazing for Hayley and she looks as though she's enjoyed every minute of it. I can't imagine what it's like to perform in such surroundings - as when the camera pans out to show the whole stadium you realise just how vast it is. What a buzz that must have been. Best wishes Grant
