A message has just come through the discussion group to say that Hayley appeared on breakfast television this morning. No details were given as the member only caught the end of it! Did anyone else see it?

Unfortunately, I didn't see it but I've just found this message on the BBC Breakfast show web page: but she doesn't seem to be featured as an archived interview as yet Friday 11 November
Singer
The teenage girl who'll be singing for Saturday's All Blacks Game - and who sang for us - is Hayley Westenra. I wonder what she sang? However, now we know that Hayley will be singing before the start of the All Blacks match in Dublin tomorow, Kick-off: 1430 GMT. I am hoping that Hayley will be singing next week too, Saturday 19th November, at the England v New Zealand match (14:30GMT). This would get a much bigger audience than the Ireland match tomorrow but it all helps! Why oh why doesn't the Official website tell us about these things? Dave PS This match will be broadcast on BBC1 Northern Ireland so I should be able to record Hayley's part in it (probably just the NZ National Anthem).

Hello all,
Apparently, the broadcast started at about 7:30 British time, and the whole interview took about 12 minutes. Hayley sang the NZ National anthem.
And no, if you think I know this because I recorded this - alas! The information was supplied to me by someone on Katherine's official forum ....

Well, the interview has been taped - by none other than fellow staff member here, Barrie. He mentioned that on the discussion group. So here's hoping we can get coverage of it on HWI Cheers, Gerrit P.S. Roger, the last time I directed attention to the number of your posts, it stood on triple 8, 8-8-8. Now it stands on quadruple 1, 1-1-1-1 Until your next post, of course

Haha, thanks for pointing that out, Gerrit, but you missed something significant. My 1,111th post was made, by pure coincidence, TODAY.... 11/11. Spooky!

Roger And now, by posting again, you've gone and spoiled it! I've just heard via Gerrit that Barrie's recording of BBC Breakfast failed so we're still looking... Cheers, Dave

Roger There's one reassuring thing about posting your 1111th post on the 11th of the 11th ... Even our friends from the US, who have a habit of turning dates around, couldn't possibly be confused by the 11th of the 11th .... Gerrit P.S. "By PURE coincidence" Are you going to tell me that's not a deliberate play of words? Or is the use of the word "Pure" here another pure coincidence ? P.P.S. And Pure has been in the British Classical charts for 1-1-1 weeks at this very moment ...

Well, I did think initially that it was 10 minutes, but it turned out to be 4 minutes. I have resampled the video, so the new file size is 11.3 MB. You can now download it from this link: www.hayley-westenra-international.net/hwi/clips/zo05/bbcbreakfast111105.wmvWelcome here on this forum, John! P.S. And even just listening to the a capella version of the NZ anthem is well worth the entire video!

Hi guys... marvellous stuff... and so early in the morning, too! Thanks Gerrit and... I presume, John for making it available! Welcome to the forum John and I hope it's your first visit of many! I will mention this in Hayley's official forum (if nobody already has). Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave, That early in the morning refers to Hayley singing, I presume? I am not a member of the forum at the official site, but feel free to post a direct link to the wmv there as well Peculiarly, there was no sign of Hayley at today's rugby match .... Cheers, Gerrit

Many thanks for that one Garrit and John. Hayley's impromptu version of the 'God Defend New Zealand' was devastatingly beautiful. It was especially nice that she sang the Maori verse.
