IT HAS JUST BEEN CONFIRMED by Steve Abbott that Hayley WILL be singing 'Rule Britannia' and 'Amazing Grace' not at the matches but at the concerts which are apparently being organised by the Germna FA at the time of the World Cup. Roger Well, if the Germans themselves are organising it they ought to know what they are doing politically speaking. Peter

It can be quite tiring just following her on the Internet, but it's all great fun, and she's clearly having a great time. If only I was nineteen again... Oh, I am, for the third time! Love to you and Crystal, Richard xx

Love to you and Crystal, Richard xx I think this interview is great for the reassurance it gives. The tour clearly has not tired her. She is still fresh and bubbly and what is she saying? She goes for the quality of the material, crosses genres, as people's tastes do and, in effect DOES NOT LIKE COMPARTMENTALISATION! She just wants to be Hayley singing a song! Like the girl she is, simple, straight forward, down to earth, practical and realistic. In short THE EXTRAORDINARY VOICE belongs to an everyday normal girl, which is what makes her SO EXTRAORDINARY and such an absolute joy. Peter--once more enthused and waxing lyrical, feeling he's just once more encountered the person who is Hayley as fresh as if he's just met her again in person. Peter

Roger Having now heard the broadcst, I can understand how an over-excited reporter jumped to the wrong conclusion, allowing for the fact he's in a different culture BUT then, she does speak it very clearly what is actually happening so, in a professional, the misreporting is really unacceptable. It just shows (and I plead guilty) we do need to eensure source is accurate before we get excited on this board about news reports! Peter

Peter Hi Peter, I wonder if you are confusing the broadcast Hayley made on Radio Wales on Sunday with the suspected source of the false World Cup rumour - someone who watched the BBC Breakfast interview with Hayley last week? So far, I know of no one who has seen or heard that broadcast... have you? (I want to see it!) I see no harm in getting excited about initial reports that seem to be logical possibilities, as many of them are eventually confirmed (such as Hayley's participation in the Il Divo Castles tour). It must, of course, be made clear that they ARE unconfirmed and I think this is always done. In this thread, almost every post after Ross first mentioned the Christchurch Press report is qualified by the word "If" and in one case, in bold letters. Cheers, Dave

You are absolutely right Dave. I have got myself confused and perhaps that is why she made the point so clearly on the Aled Jones interview, to ensure there was not any further confusion!
Corerction accepted and acknowledged. Thank you!

I've just been watching some of the World Cup highlights on TV from various years (including the famous Chris Waddle "Over the goalpost penalty shootout from 1990"!!!) I'm not a huge football fanatic, but the first World Cup which I really remember watching properly was Spain '82. I was only 9 then. Scotland had a semi-respectable team in those days! We had Gordon Strachan, Kenny Dalgleish, Joe Jordan... to name just 3! I've been winding down after a couple of days of exams... Only one more 2 hour exam to go now! Where's the catch? Well it's on Saturday morning at 10.30am. Would you believe that? I'm going off for a week's break after that to the Isle of Arran, just in case anyone misses me or notices that I haven't logged in next week! To put the discussion back on topic- I'm really looking forward to hearing and seeing clips of Hayley singing 'Rule Britannia' and 'Amazing Grace'. Is that going to be possible via the Forum, I wonder... If the concerts are a means of promoting the World Cup, will parts of them be televised? Perhaps I'm just being too optimistic? Regards, Andrew
