You are welcome Comet, hope you enjoyed the videos. Rhydian is the only male singer who has ever touched my soul (soggy I know!!!) but his versatility holds no bounds and to hear that rich baritone voice soaring just sends me to heaven irrespective of what he sings. I am hoping there may be a duet with Hayley on his third album, you never know....
I am looking forward to seeing him perform in The War of the Worlds in December. The show will be incredible and Rhydian being in it is the icing on the cake for me.
Thanks for your comment Richard, I shall know another time if I make a booob....

Thanks for thinking of me Maggie, I didn't post about The War of The Worlds show as we recently had a family bereavement. Yes I did see the show at the O2, It was spectacular to say the least, the pyrotechnics on stage were pretty amazing. I got the double LP when it was first released and have listened to it regularly over the years, also got it in various re incarnations on CD. Unfortunately the sound from Rhydian's microphone was very weak in relation to Beth and the backing music, you could see Rhydian was clearly performing well, but the sound was coming through the PA system at a very low level, I was really disappointed for Rhydian,It probably sounded right to him through his monitors, so he may not have known it was not going out to the audience.. Don't know who was to blame, the mixing desk person, I presume, I was a huge fan of Phil Lynnot's version of the Parson on the album, It was loud and clear and had great presence. I really only went to the show to see Rhydian, I was not aware of who else was performing, My daughter bought us the tickets and also went as she had heard the albums played so many times over the last 30 years.. I was most pleasantly surprised to find it was Jeff Wayne himself who was conducting, Then more surprised to find Justin Hayward was also performing his part too...... I hate to admit it but the real STAR of the show was Jason Donovan (Doing the part that David Essex did on the original recording of the soldier) He was extremely energetic and sang exceptionally well.. The percussionists were pretty cool too.. the young lady in white looked really good from where I was sitting, playing drums, xylophone, timpani and another huge drum for the finale... Also surprised and pleased to see Herbie Flowers (Sky) and Chris Spedding Hope you enjoy your show and the problems at the mixing desk are resolved for Rhydian. Thanks for the links to the videos Maggie

Hi Comet So sorry to hear of your family's bereavement, a difficult time and more so, so near to Christmas. What a pity that Rhydian's mic was not working properly at the O2- it must have been really disappointing for the audience. I have seen various videos recorded from different venues and I think the problem only occurred at your venue. What a shame. Well, I finally made it to the Nottingham show and it really was brilliant - the whole cast were superb and Jason did get thundering applause at the end. No problems with sound at all thankfully. I agree with you, it was great that Jeff Wayne was conducting although I always thought of him as taller. From all the reports they say he is a really lovely person. I have attached a further link to Rhydian's performance recorded by Rattie last night in Nottingham - it is an excellent video and shows virtually the whole of his performance. I have to say that he really is an excellent actor. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole of the show. www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CXVtqGP_s0I too have the double album and really enjoy listening to it - the music is timeless. I have to say that I was pleased to get home though, it was a bitterly cold night coming out from the Arena.

I've just had a quick read back over the last few pages, while listening to the album O Fortuna Nobody has mentioned the wonderful track 4. on the album CONQUEST OF PARADISEI have the album over a year now, I gave my first copy to my father in law, he was just so gobsmacked when he heard the album in our house at Christmas time over a year ago now, I couldn't let him go home without it.. He did manage to forget the copy of Susan Boyle which we had in fact gotten for him for Christmas I knew I would buy a replacement copy in HMV after the Christmas rush was over.. Back to Conquest of Paradise, I assumed it was an old song or verse because it was in Latin, I have found myself playing the song multiple times when it comes on over the last year, It really is food for the soul, It is like having someone physically lift your spirit up for you, You feel physically stronger after hearing it..which is kind of amazing really, I mean It's just a piece of music and some people singing.. but my oh my ! what a powerful piece of singing..what an amazing song.. So I got curious as to it's origins.. It's not old at all, well not really, It's from a 1992 Movie and it's composed by Vangelis.. I didn't know that.. but then again, I didn't know what Rice Crispies were made from either .. duh.. I must have been busy around 1992 as this one slipped right past me, and me being a Vangelis fan to boot. So I have been doing a bit of research into the lyrics, they sound so powerful and uplifting and I wonder what they mean..? My research so far has led to a lot of viewing of stuff on You Tube what a wonderful way to squander a few hours Graeme ? Did you do your translation homework ? pull up your socks now and show me your homework ! Can't you see I'm very busy here, doing very serious research on Latin translation of Conquest of Paradise. Oh I do love YouTube I looked up the lyrics on Google and found this note under the lyrics * These lyrics are an "invented" musical language, it's called: "wordpainting" [pseudo Latin]

Hi Comet I have to say that your father-in-law has very good taste!!! I, like you, love Conquest of Paradise - it has so much power and his voice is sublime. It is the one track that I play on repeat. I don't think I could ever get tired of listening to it. It definitely lifts the spirit and everything else!!! It is interesting that the lyrics are "invented". I don't know if you are aware, but Rhydian is now working on his third album which is due for release February/March time together with a single. This third album is not classical but will be 80's type music. We are all eagerly anticipating what it will be like. It seems that the SHOWMAN is making a comeback....... love it! More exciting news - his management are working on a tour which would appear to be happening in October/November of this year. The 2009 tour incorporated Ireland at Rhydian's insistance, so, hopefully, you will be able to go to a Rhydian concert at home! WATCH THIS SPACE!!!!!!! Here are a few links to more performances for you to enjoy and any other Rhydian fans who may like to take a peep. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2tCXs1HkkME&feature=related - does he remind you of the late Elvis in this one? ? www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2tMQL_WL28&feature=relatedwww.youtube.com/watch?v=lSQAs715yD0&feature=related

Hi, I am new at this Forum! Love Hayley since the time she started to sing. Other singer whom I adore is Rhydian! I saw them singing together when Rhydian was on Tour and last year too. Just want to share with you that Rhydian next, third album is a pop rock CD!!! Can you imagine that? His first song from the album WAVES is PARADE and the video is here: Tell me, please, if you like it. I do and am happy Rhydian has decided to do different music. The guy is truly talented. I don't know is this Board excepts embedded videos - I am posting both links. www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxYlHFTBliI&feature=feedlik

Here is the second song from Rhydian's new album Waves. The name of the song is 'Hands To Heaven'. You can listen to it: www.moontripgraphics.com/rhydian.html I love both the songs 'Parade' and Hands To Heaven. If all the songs on Waves are as good as those two we are in for a real treat with his pop rock album.

Welcome to the forum Maydalena, What an interesting screen name, hints of Morricone and Biblical people all in one Thanks for the updates on Rhydian. Looking forward to his new album. My computer is making a monkey out of me lately, every time I go to YouTube or a site with an automatic start to a video, the computer seizes up and just beeps at me, I have to re-boot. Boot, I'll give it boot alright..
