Wow ! I have his album RHYDIAN playing at the moment. I'm not big into male singers of this type,( I prefer singer , songwriter / poet types ) but this voice is exceptionally brilliant ! I saw him On The Late Late Show (Ireland) and thought he was good. He looks like an escapee from KRAFTWERK and holds a rather stiff face, but maybe this is to be part of his image But he is a magnificent voice.. with a hint of Meatloaf on track 8 NOT A DRY EYE IN THE HOUSE www.andrewlloydwebber.com/images/news/pitp33.jpgThe sleeve notes are in 1mm capital letters with half millimetre lower case letter, two lines of text to every 3mm , thats about the thickness of a UK pound coin..! can they really have taken a proof print of this and thought anyone could read this unaided by a magnifier

Sometimes a new meaning or interpretation dawns on you when you have heard a song a million times !
I have heard Bridge Over troubled Water a few times and today I heard these lyrics in a different light.....
Sail on silvergirl, Sail on by. Your time has come to shine. All your dreams are on their way. See how they shine. If you need a friend Im sailing right behind. Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind. Like a bridge over troubled water I will ease your mind.

I have his album and wrote about it on my blog. My style on my blog is not really appropriate on this site, but it wasn't favourable.
I think Rhydian is a fantastic singer, but the fact that he is signed with Syco records does him no favours. This isn't where he belongs. He should either sign with a classical label or get to the West End. Cowell's company is awful, and only knows how to produce mass market friendly products. Not one X-Factor contestant has released a decent album. Ever. There is no art to them.
Rhydian's album reeks of Josh Groban. It's not his fault. The fact that they are both baritones doesn't help matters, but Rhydian's interpretation skills are not very good. They barely deviate from the originals.
As I understand it he had a choice between Webber and Cowell, and he chose Cowell. Webber was offering the title role for his next musical. What a silly thing to turn down.

Hello Nicola! The only advice I would offer to anybody in the music business is to avoid Simon Cowell at all costs. He has no interest in his artists whatsoever, once they've fattened his wallet. Richard

Good thing that Faryl Smith turned him down for UCJ. I don't know why anyone believes that Simon Cowell would give them a career. Clive Davis owns Leona more than he does and she has exceptional talent, so she'll go far. Anyone else? No chance. Although I suppose Cowell got lucky with Il Divo. I still haven't warmed to them though.

Richard Richard, would you like us to start a collection to help cover your legal expenses when Mr Cowell sues you in court ?! I was reading that his Syco royalties for songs like "Hallelujah" amount to £250,000 a day !

Hi everyone
Like Libby, I also think Rhydian would be great in the West End. He has a wonderful voice and I especially like the duet he recorded with Idina Menzel. He should definitely have chosen Webber over Cowell but I hope he does well despite that. I haven't bought his album but I might try it.

I dunno about this... it seems awfully close to infringing on Hayley's personal life to post information about who may or may not be dating her. Clearly the story didn't originate from Hayley or her team, so maybe it's none of our beeswax.

Hi Steve,
I agree with you up to a point. Unfortunately, this story has fallen into the public domain thanks to Wales Online and we normally reckon to give coverage to anything that has been said elsewhere. We are not reporting the news as such; we are reporting what is being said in the news elsewhere. Even if it should prove to be incorrect, it has still been published and we therefore wouldn't suppress it.
What we would not allow is any discussion that is in any way judgmental. Ideally, very little will be said at all because, as you say, it is really none of our business.
Roger

There's not really anything to discuss at any rate. Even with the article trying to hype everything up, all it concedes is that they may have been out to dinner a few times. For a girl in her early twenties (especially one as in demand as Hayley) this is hardly anything groundbreaking! I'd imagine Hayley has a mountain of dinner invites permanently waiting her approval! Tell the Wales Online to come back when they have something newsworthy to report!

Hi all, I'm sure Hayley has been out for meals loads of times. It so happens that the Rhydian is from Powys, and was on the X Factor; otherwise Wales Online wouldn't have even mentioned anything. BTW...the name Rhydian means 'ford' or 'river crossing'. Hmmm. that water could H 2O 2 Joe

Whoa, Nigel is talking about them getting together permanently already?? Good grief! That's way too fast all of a sudden. Just because they had a couple dates does not mean they are "dating", or that they're ready to get married! If he asked her out, and she said yes, doesn't mean she's in love with him yet (I hope not). And Rhydian said he broke up with the other lady because she wanted to have kids? What happens if Hayley wants them? She said in a recent interview that she would like them "eventually". I'm sorry, but I'm really not liking this new little tidbit for some reason. He's kind of weird-looking, for one. I know it's not my business to make these judgments, but I'm just not sure about it.

I think it was the American humorist Will Rogers that said."Believe nothing that you read and only half of what you see".
