Hi all! Bristol and London sound like a great weekend-double. I hope the concert in London will be confirmed. Thomas

I agree Andy. But she is never on her own. At Northampton lat Wednesday, she had Raven, Al and Andy with her, and on ROD Raven do two and a bit sets too. The problem I have with the alentines tour is that none of the peformaces are within sensible reach of Leicester/Rugby for someone who has to work. The nearest, Oxford, it too far to get to after work.

If this tour has songs like 'Today Will Never Come Again', 'Un Giorno Per Noi', or 'Amigos Para Siempre' in it, then this will be one tour I am sorry to miss! It sounds apsoultely amazing- wow is all I can say!

Hi everyone Many thanks for posting the news about this February UK Tour. I'm not terribly excited about it (nothing against Jonathan, but I think I'd prefer to see Hayley on her own!) but it's nice to hear that they'll be doing some concerts together. Stephany I understand where you are coming from, Stephany, but I think that this is good for Hayley both in terms of her career and musical development. I like soprano tenor duets, and I like Jonathan much more than some people here. I think he's brilliant; and I really do prefer him to Josh Groban. I think he has a more powerful voice than Josh too; not that that is all that important. It is interesting, though, that when they were looking for an operatic soprano to sing with Jonathan on the "Night at the Opera" tour, the senior judge said it would have to be a woman with a particularly powerful voice for her to be able to foot it with Jonathan. This confirms my notion that Hayley, these days, has a stronger voice than most opera singers. Jonathan's reputation is already very high, though he hasn't been around long as a solo act, and I certainly don't think it does Hayley any harm to be associated with him. Appearing together the fees they get would be split as it were, but I'm not sure that together they may not be such a drawcard that they get more than they would individually.

Personally, I kinda like the idea.
One of the things I found most striking about the duet which Jonathan and Hayley did at the Classical Brits was the obvious stage chemistry on display. I dont know that much about Jonathan, but I thought it brought forth a dimension from Hayley I hadnt seen before.
With this in mind, a valentines tour involving them seems quite a logical extention. I will be paying particular attention to this tour as it is also the first major project undertaken by Hayley post RoD.

Jon They certainly seem very comfortable with each other and their timing is good. It's slightly delicate ground, perhaps, but I feel that singing with Jonathan stretches Hayley out a bit. I'm not sure what the dimension Jon has in mind it. I thought that her duets with Lee Mead and the other guy at Loyld Webber's birthday were a natural progression as a result of her getting a bit older. I preferred Hayley's Amigos Para Siempre duet to the Classical Brits one, actually. I see that the people on the Jonathan Ansell forum seem very happy, in the main, with the arrangement too. And of course it can work both ways with Hayley stretching, or bringing out the best in Jonathan. I could be wrong -- and I think there has been a change as Hayley gets older -- but I felt there was a tendancy for her calm and placid temperament -- not a bad thing in itself of course -- sometimes meant that Hayley coasted a bit, but that Jonathan keeps her on her toes. And it will work both ways. It's all experience and grist to the mill and they'll both benefit from it, I'm sure.

Just been emailed by ticketmaster that the Oxford gig is opening for selling tickets Monday 10th (tomorrow)
Have also checked out site etc and thought Oxford would save an overnight stay. Unless you are on the direct train line I suggest you think carefully, unless you are staying over. In effect the theatre advertising and city details tell you 'forget parking in Oxford'. Park and Ride does not seem to include the theatre and it is too complicated to find out how late that runs and if it drops you off near the theatre! Peter S.

I'm not sure what the dimension Jon has in mind it. I Hi StuartJ First, if I had seen a better quality video of the duet of Amigos Para Siempre, I might have been inclined to agree with you. However, as the effect I am speaking of seems to be almost as much in visual presentation as it is the music itself, I am sort of stuck with the material I have, and the statement I made about Un Giorno Per Noi reflects that. If you look, as I have, at the commentary that people make about Hayley outside of her core fandom you will find a couple of consistant themes. Some people of course do not like the kind of music she sings period, and there is very little she can do to win that segment over. However, there are also many people who like her voice in general, but have found her performances somewhat devoid of feeling. What Hayley did on Un Giorno Per Noi was in my opinion to display genuine seeming passion on a level I had simply not seen from her before. To be fair, she has approached that several times since - but as it was the first time I saw it, that performance in particular jumped out at me. Jon

Hi Peter and everyone Park and Ride does not seem to include the theatre and it is too complicated to find out how late that runs and if it drops you off near the theatre! Don't be put off by using Oxford's Park & Ride system! They invented the idea and have five main park & ride routes, mostly within 15 minutes of the city centre and at least 4 operate until almost midnight Details can be found HEREBest wishes Grant

Do any of you folks know who is promoting this tour? It seems such a good idea but is relatively small as far as numbers are concerned and as Lowestoft sold out in 24 hrs wondered if anyone knew whether it was likely that new dates could be added? Have been lucky enough to see Hayley and Jonathan perform together live three times now and four times if you include the FoR on TV - all spine tingling stuff and a good move for both of them as it adds something fresh and different to the industry at the moment. I have read on here that you like her singing with him as the relationship appears comfortable? Jonathan is settling into it now too as I am not sure he was quite so happy at the ClassicalBrits from what his Father said afterwards but they were truly excellent at the Don Black birthday party and she seemed very happy when I spoke to her afterwards I have heard rumours that they might record an album - so hope that happens as Today Won't Come Again and Amigos Para Siempre really should be recorded - both created a lot of interest and would be a shame to be added to just one of their solo future albums. Wondered if some lobbying could be done and perhaps a bit of suggestions with track selections - obvious ones for me are All I Ask of You from Phantom - which Hayley sang with Lee Mead at the ALW birthday party and I thought she should have done that with Jonathan and another favourite of mine is You and I from Chess. Has Hayley done any true Opera like Libiamo??

Hi dilog,
I don't think we have heard who the promoters are for this tour but additional dates are, I suppose, a possibility. It depends how well tickets sell for the existing dates but, in some cases it is too early to tell. Lowestoft being sold out is an excellent sign but tickets for other events are not even on sale yet.
The rumours of a joint album are interesting would either artist want to spend several months on a joint venture? I imagine they would prefer to persue their respective solo careers. A concert tour, however, may prove that a joint album might be popular so you never know.

I am very tempted by 12th Feb as it's the nearest venue but I'm not sure what I'm doing yet so I can't book a ticket.

That is a perpetual problem with me, I can never know where I will be months in advance - I might be anywhere i the world. So to book early and get a good seat, I need to book knowing I might not be able to make it. This year I have been able to make six concerts so far, but on two occasions I only got back into Britain the day before. Another problem with this one, is that midweek concerts need to be fairly local if I an going to get there after work. This tour has noting at all in the Midlands! Martin
