Hi Colin and Grant,
Thanks for the instructions Colin, but that sounds much more complicated than what I did. In my case my son had already set up an iTunes account on my computer, and used it to download music for his iPod.
So when I ran the iTunes application, it invited me to upgrade to the latest version (8). I did that, and selected iTunes Store. Then it asked me for my son's password! But since he no longer lives here (he Comes and goes) and I didn't know it, I chose to open a new account in my own name. This involves giving details of a valid credit or debit card, plus name and address and sundry other details, including your email address and chosen password.
Once you have Itunes, run the application and the main window will open. you need to go to the iTunes store by clicking on "iTunes Store" in the panel at the left of the window.
Once there, you will see a search box at the top left of the screen.. Into ths type "Hayley Westenra iTunes Festival". I found that just typing "Hayley Westenra" did not list this album. You should then see a panel with the picture of the album cover (as in my photo in this thread). To buy the album click on "Buy Album". After, if I remember, a confirmation stage, the album is automatically downloaded to your iTunes library and your card is debited. You might also get a receipt by email.
Once the download is compete, the tracks appear in your library and can be played on you PC by clicking on one of the playlists in the left panel that include it, I suggest either "Purchased" or "Recently Added". This will give you a list of tracks. Double clicking on a track will play it, followed by the tracks below it in the list in the order shown.
To burn a CD you can search for the tutorial I found using the help menu on the menu bar. But even when Ifound it, getting it to work involved a bit of guesswork. So I will explain what I eventually did here.
First I created a playlist that included the tracks I wanted to include on the CD. Click on the "View" menu on the menu bar, then "Show Browser" in the menu that appears. This will display a browser at the top of the screen with three "panes". In the middle pane. click on Hayley Westenra. This should list your EP in the right pane. Click on the EP name in the right pane, and drag it into the left panel under "Playlists". This creates a new playlist that includes Hayley's EP.
Nearly there. Place a blank CD in your CD writer, then right click on the name of your new playlist and select "Burn Playlist to Disc" . From here follow the on-screen instructions, and your tracks will be burned onto the CD.
The other thing that I did was to print the artwork, to a connected printer. From the menu bar, choose File > print and this will display a dialogue box. Select "CD Jewel Case Insert" (the default) and from the "theme" menu "Single Cover". You should then see the insert you require displayed at the left of the window. Click OK to print it.
Done! Phew! This was the first time I had done it too, and a fair bit of trial and error was involved.
Hope this helps. Good luck. This album is worth the effort, and as Colin says, this will seem easy once you have got your brain around the way iTunes works.
