Hi All, Although I can't make this one I did some research on the venue.......... Theatre The main auditorium is a state-of-the-art venue fully equipped with all the sound and lighting facilities you would expect from a modern theatre. The auditorium capacity is 500 (seated) or 800 (fully standing stalls area and seated circle). {I doubt you will be standing i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif ) link to seating plan below...... HEREWish I could be there with you Graham

This is a lovely theatre, very modern from the outside and inside as well, but tasteful. I do find some modern venues can turn a bit nasty if there not careful. Anyway, i think this venue will be great for Hayley to perform in, its small enough to be quite intimate but at the same time creates a feeling of space. I might go to this concert, as ill be in Leeds at the time. Will have to see if i can squeeze a trip to Durham into my schedule.

Hi All, Hayley is certainly going to be busy this Autumn ! Oh Dear as ( bad ) luck would have it, when Hayley does get close to my base ( Durham ) we are away on holiday. Unfortunately already booked and paid for We will be back for the Newcastle date but it would have been nice to go to both. With 14 of the 17 dates midweek it is awkward for those still working, other than if you live close. It will be interesting to see how ticket sales go Graham AAAAAW, Graham, I was hoping to meet you in Durham. Beautiful city and the Gala's a lovely little theatre. Maybe Newcastle instead - if that's not invading your patch too much. Hope the hospitality is good. Paddy

Hi Paddy, strange email .......particularly as Grant got an acknowledgment that they knew about it. My nice 'Geordie lady' is at Newcastle I had better not take the one from Durham aside, as I have not spoken to her Hope You get it sorted, Graham

Hi Graham and Paddy Actually, it was me that told them Hayley would be performing there!! I'd decided not to do this one, so it looks like I wouldn't have been able to anyway. Looks to me like someone has got crossed wires. No doubt Roger will sort it out with Steve A. Best wishes Grant

Hi Paddy, Graham, Grant, and anyone else who is currently Durhamfounded!
All I know is that I have had confirmation of this event on three separate occasions (from Erica, Nicola and Steve). It also appears on the Official site (as does Newcastle) so I have no reason at the moment to doubt it will go ahead.
This is an unfortunate consequence of trying to make bookings and enquiries before the venue's computer systems are fully updated. Bedlam advised on Tuesday that tickets are likely to be onsale (for all events) "early next week". Some may (and have) tickets onsale now but it may be a few days yet before everyone concerned is in full possession of the latest information.

Thanks Richard. I will add it to my "Queries for Bedlam" list. I only spoke to them this afternoon but they didn't mention it. Roger

I was really hoping that it would go ahead. It's not listed on the Gala site either! The email I got on 27th must have been correct. It was from the Programming and Operations Manager. What a pity. It would have been a great venue for Hayley. Paddy

Hi Roger,, First Llandudno ( first time not Autumn tour ) and now Durham have followed nearly identical paths. Both 'confirmed by Bedlam' both then removed from the official site event list whilst rumors were circulating. Still on HWI list and then eventually ours is changed to match. 'Confirmed by Bedlam' is always the benchmark that I have been told to look for before making any plans. What went wrong with these two Graham

Hi Graham,
In short, we don't know what went wrong. As with any business, things do go wrong and things do change, probably for very good reason and possibly beyond Bedlam Management's control but they are not obliged to disclose in any detail what those reasons might be.
I spoke to one of them yesterday about other issues but also raised the question of the Durham concert. The situation is that they are looking into it. They did not say that the event will not take place (althought that appears to be the eventual outcome). I cannot say more than that at this stage.
If you can suggest a more reliable alternative than 'confirmation from Bedlam', I should be very pleased to know what it is.
Roger
