Thanks, but where's the enter key? I don't see one, just a list of items and a quantity box! The ENTER key... on ya keyboard! Roger PS. The keyboard is that long thing that you type on all day! Hi Roger and thank you for that mind blowing piece of information! Of course, I should have said the 'next' button. which incidentally, I still cannot see but thanks to Dave's post, have now found. Best wishes Grant

Hi Comet
Just a couple of points of clarification:
Later versions of Media Player, for example refer to 'buffering' not downloading.
As it buffers, a dark blue line can be seen just below the screen and as it plays, a lighter blue line covers it.
Once the piece has fully downloaded, the dark blue line will diasappear and it is then safe to save.
Best wishes Grant

Thanks and thanks again Drew. On listening to it again I thought during the chorus how much Hayley's voice stood out over everyone else. I then relalised of course that she was the only female singing the chorus Martin

That is going to make a lot of mammys and daddys happy. COMPUTERS FOR DUMMIES ( Thats me ! )This is for people who don't know how to download stuff ! If you already know how to download stuff, Please check these instructions and if you know a better or easier way do tell us. Hi Comet, I 'right click' on what I want to download. Then click 'Open new window' then click 'Save ' It then allows you to choose where to save it. when this is done click 'save'. It then downloads giving you a check as to % complete. When it reaches 100% it is then ready to play. i,e I always save it before playing it. It is easier for me, but that is maybe because I am used to it ? Graham

Hi Guys,
It also depends on which media player you use. I used Realplayer which is subtly different. Click on the link to buffer the file, and it then plays automatically. When it finishes a tab appers that can be clicked on to download it. It doesn't download it all over again though, by simply stores the file in your Realplayer video library. From there you can copy or move it elsewhere if you want.

Drew, I loved the vilia video which Dame Malvina sung beautifully. I noticed how well Dame Malvina and especially Hayleys dresses blend in with the choir. The only odd one out was Will, maybe he should have borrowed a frock lol.

Graham Well as Somebody (I'm sure I'm not the only one here) who gets paid for fixing computers, creating software, websites & securing computers. I have noted that drews videos (exceptional that they are) do not seem to play in anything other than real player (I take this to be a missing codec, a codec being a add-in for media players to allow them to player all the different kinds of files) If this is the case for most people, I will try and located a codec that will allow the video to be played in other media player I will however recommend the "For Dummies" Series of books. I will say that most web servers (unless changed the server owners) will not allow you to progressively download a 60+Mb Video (progressive downloading is where you are downloading parts of it first then viewing. unlike streaming whereas you are viewing and less stress is placed on your net connections as it is a fixed x bytes downloading all the time while viewing) as if your on a slow connection the server will timeout and will use a lot of your computers resources This is my 2 pence on this.. Kind Regards Dean p.s Drew's Videos are exceptional and are all the pictures, so a Big "Thank You" from Me

Hi Dean & All, Well I've just played Vilia thru 2x & still have tears rolling down my face. Can't believe how beautiful that piece is..... Anyhow back to Computers: I've found the free download manager / accelerator DAP very good for a long time now. As an example, my download broke off for Vilia's 100 Mb file & I merely had to "resume download" & it did & completed. I'm the sort of person who keeps these performance clips with as much regard as bought Cds so keep them on my hard drive until I archive them. For those whose hard drives are smallish, consider an external drive of, say, 300 GB on which you may store such gems & which are independent of computer breakdown. Thats my 2 cents worth, Graeme PS My WM player 11 was perfectly OK for all Drews clips.

Hi All, Just 1 more cents worth from me: Re the Barcarolle Lyrics in French below: www.lyrics007.com/All%20Angels%20Lyrics/Barcarolle%20Lyrics.htmlI found it fascinating & awsome to have: 1. one window of browser active with just the lyrics on it & reduced in size so that the Lyrics only were visible. 2. The Windows Media Player (or similar) parked next to the lyrics. 3. Play Barcarolle & follow the words on the lyrics while Hayley & Malvina sing.....utterly brilliant.... If you haven't done this already that is, Graeme

Will did consider wearing a red jacket, but he didn't want people to think he worked at Butlins! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Steve H, I've been around a long time and have seen thousands (by now) of photos of Hayley, but I have to say I was stunned beyond all words by your "Hayley in conversation". This is the most striking picture I have ever seen of her. Just like her voice, it stopped me in my tracks! Unbelievably well done! Especially one with Steve. These insights into the 'working girl at work' are precious and it is good to see an aspect of Hayley we do not often gain, the serious girl debating technical criticism with fellow professionals. Those members who attended the soundcheck have mentioned that Hayley didn't use a microphone for all or part of it. As she used one for her solo performances in the concert, then surely, it wasn't a "souncheck" in the true sense? Interesting point Roger! But surely a 'soundcheck' is to establish the adequacy of the level of sound relative to a particular venue, whether that be electronically or through vocal mastery. Just a thought. I totally agree Roger, and hope very seriously that the answer to your question is a resounding "yes!"Best wishes Grant Quite right, Grant. A 'sound check' is precisley that, the testing of audibility in the audtorium for all aspects of stage delivery and then adding in from experience certain aspects of audience absorption that indicates additional volume or projection. When speaking to Dame Malvina afterwards I said. “I know that tonight I have heard one of the greatest voices in the world. It has been both exhilarating and very humbling. It has been a great night.” Hello Peter! You should have said two, not one. Richard Were Hayley to respond in the privacy of fellow professionals I think she would agree with me! The last thing any artiste wants aroud them is sycophants. One of the reasons I believe we have the rapporte we seem to have with Hayley is precisely because she has gauged we are not sycophants. If Hayley could manage the vocal gymnastics Dame Malvina delivered, she would have done so and as Grant remarked it was Dame Malvina who adapted her delivery to ensure vocal compatibility between the two of them. This whole thread has been about teacher and student and were I to say other than I did that would have been an expression of not appreciating Dame Malvina in two ways: not appreciating her for herself and not appreciating the difference between teacher and student. I have too little familiarity with the range of soprano singing now available but were Callas to be in the frame, then, from what I recollect of Callas, she would be one and Major and te Kanawa would be 2nd equal. If one debates the listenability of the two voices, yes I would rate them equally, despite the fact their singing is in different theatres but both can meld with the other in a mid-ground arena. If she contnues and which ever direction she finally decides her voice has developed into then a time will come when one would say of Hayley as I have of Dame Malvina. My mind jumps forward perhaps only ten years, as I have just said of Dame Malvina I could say of Hayley with another young girl of... 22--young Farell? I was mulling while driving the comment made by Roger about curtsying. Did Dame Malvina curtsy to Hayley or did she simply collect up her gown prior to climbing two steps? What ladies were there to comment? Libby? Peter S.
