Hi , Today i recieved a Pure cd from the US. I was surprised that no one noticed this cd , when it was on Ebay. I bought it on 18th of September for US 9.99 It contains the US version of Pure (28947 518020) and a 5 track Bonus disc (28947 56295 5). The bonus disc is seperate in a card sleeve, but both cd's where sealed as 1 item. Who knows more about this??? Greetz Joyce Ha ! Joyce, The recession has kicked in big time, I hardly even look at Ebay anymore, No point in annoying myself looking at things I won't be bidding on.

Greetz Joyce Hi Joyce, It looks like you might have found the special version of Pure created for Hayley's appearance on the US television shopping network QVC. She appeared on it sometime in 2004 I believe and sang a couple of tracks while they sold her CD. I bought that edition right away to get the bonus disc which had a couple of tracks I did not own at the time. I recognised the tracklisting you posted, including their mistake of leaving out the 'E' in 'Hine E Hine.' Hope that helps! Cathleen

Ok, it's been long enough for at least SOMEONE to have collected all of the “Pure” versions. And I've been wondering this for a while... So here is the question: Definitively, how many versions of “Pure” are there? Someone must know, I hope! -Taylor P.S.- What's in the K2HD version of “Pure”? There isn't any sub-board for it, or any posts at all that I could find. I'm thinking about maybe getting it for my birthday

I'm not sure anyone knows for certain, I have 12 including a New Zealand only cassette and there is at least one other that I've been unable to get hold of. I have the following:- New Zealand (cassette) Australia/New Zealand UK Japan USA Germany Asia (Malaysia) China UK Special Edition Australia/New Zealand Special Edition Asia (Singapore) Taiwan Not an authorised release - most likely counterfeit Best wishes Grant

Oh... Didn't know that it wasn't authorised! Well. I thought it was legit. I mean, even Amazon.com shows it as being avalible at one time, and YesAsia.com, HMV Hong Kong, and Amazon.co.jp. When so many places have the exact same thing, it's hard to think it's not real. Oh well, maybe I can persuade my parents to let me get Prayer. -Taylor P.S.- Found some scans:

If this cd is available through HMV Japan then I would assume it is legitimate. LOOK HEREOr just Google 480 411-5 Decca Universal The limited edition type number in the bottom right hand corner is an interesting detail No 0594

Hi Taylor and Comet
I am still not convinced that this is a genuine release - perhaps only an enquiry to Universal will clarify one way or another.
Some while ago there was another version of Pure offered from Hong Kong and I bought a copy - Comet, you may remember it had "24 KT GLOD" in the top right hand corner. THAT was also supposedly a K2 HD CD. Remember these people can be pretty convincing.
The CD Serial Number is also suspect as all Hayley's CD's so far have had 473, 475, or 478 prefixes. This one has a 480 prefix.
I can't explain why Amazon and HMV are stocking it - maybe they are being duped like everyone else!
Cheers Grant

When so many places have the exact same thing, it's hard to think it's not real. Oh well, maybe I can persuade my parents to let me get Prayer. -Taylor P.S.- Found some scans: Hi Taylor, I like several others am sceptical and my initial reaction was and still is "fake". If you can provide links to where it is listed on Amazon and HMV, that may help. Interestingly, although it was "manufactured in Japan" and "printed in Hong Kong", it can be found listed neither on Hayley's official Japanese website nor the umg website in HK that is listed on the (let's face it) somewhat amateurish artwork. Neither can I even find it on the "yesasia" website that has a huge sticker on the artwork (though I know nothing about "yesasia", and again, a link would help.). We also should ask ourselves why Decca would even authorise the production and re-release in a special format of such a 7 year old album in 2010, without some special event to coincide with it there, and without a standard CD format being produced as well. Hayley was not a big seller in Japan or HK in 2010. Another important question would be, is it available on iTunes in any of the aforementioned countries, or anywhere in fact? Most other Hayley CD releases seem to be available somewhere, in legal digital format too. Also, This "24 bit 100KHz mastering", what is that and if it exists, did it exist in 2002/3 when Pure was recorded and if so, was Pure originally mastered in that format? I doubt it, or I am sure it would have been mentioned in one of the many interviews and promotions that we've seen - and Decca would have tried to take advantage of it at the time. In which case, what's the point of releasing a CD randomly in that format 7 years later? It could be no better quality than the original mastering, it would be a pointless exercise. I'll need a lot of evidence to be persuaded that this is even possibly a genuine release and so far, I have seen nothing in the slightest persuasive. Unless convincing evidence is forthcoming, we will in due course move the posts relating to it to another thread (for obvious reasons). My recommendation as of now? Steer well clear of it. Cheers, Dave

Thank you all for your help with my little dilemma. I have decided to TRY and convince my parents to let me get Prayer instead of the suspected fake. Still, who knows? I would also like to thank Joyce a BIG bunch for answering my initial question! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif My goodness, if I am to have the Hayley collection I want, then I certainly have some work cut out for me. I would also like to apologise for getting the thread kinda off topic. Oh, well, it happens. Thanks again, -Taylor
