Hi pghmusiclover, Great find - thank you very much for posting! We can't hear Hayley in the sample but it sounds quite good. To listen to the sample of "Amazing Grace", you need to scroll down a bit on this page and click on this image if you have a Real Player or this one . Stephany

Excuse me but can someone make it clear whether Hayley would sing these songs in Japanese or in some newly written English lyrics? Thanks.

Hi all! I'm not sure if this has been posted before, but there's a video on YouTube of the complete Amazing Grace duet: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0__PmSQLlzs. I can't seem to find it on this thread; sorry if I'm double-posting. The funny thing is, I was just watching videos of Minako Honda on YouTube yesterday. She played Kim in Miss Saigon, and if you look up her version of "I'll Give My Life for You," it's absolutely heartbreaking. Unfortunately, she passed away from leukemia a few years ago. I think it's a lovely tribute and a beautiful duet. Oksy

I knew it must have been posted before! Thanks Grant... I've been busy, but other than that, pretty well! It's nice to be back I really, really hope this album gets released worldwide. I'd love to hear Hayley sing some of these songs... I wonder if we'll see her playing piano on this one? Oksy

Hello everyone, As we have now seen what seems to be the actual album cover (thanks to all who have posted it) we know the real album title, which is not the oddly translated "Hayley Meets Japanese songs" as provided by the web translators, but it is Hayley Sings Japanese Songs. So I have changed the thread title accordingly. I've also noticed that Hayley now seems to be known in Japan as simply " Hayley" and not Hayley Westenra. Perhaps a sign of things to come in some other Countries? Anyway, here is a reminder (any excuse i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif ): Dave

Roger, You locked the other thread whilst I was in the process of posting to it. The post was then refused! So I've posted it here instead, I think it is the right place. Hello everyone, I've also noticed that Hayley now seems to be known in Japan as simply " Hayley" and not Hayley Westenra. Perhaps a sign of things to come in some other Countries? Dave I rather like that idea! There is only one Hayley after all! I'm looking forward to getting this album when it is released. But buying it in Japan does not help its success when and if it is finally released here. And I want a copy as soon as I can get one. So I pre-ordered. Martin

Sorry about that, Martin. Although I endeavour to move threads only when the forum is relatively quiet, I have no way of knowing that a post is in the process of being made. Just to be fair, I will try to do it to someone else next time! Roger PS. If it is any consolation, I tried to post this message not realising that I had been kicked offline and, yes, you've guessed, I lost the lot!

Hi Dave This has been fact for quite a while. I can't remember when I first searched for Hayley Westenra on CD Japan but it was quite a while ago. What I do remember is getting the message "Do you mean Hayley?" I answered "yes" and got a full discography! I didn't think much of it at the time, but thinking about it now with the Japanese people being so proper and formal, it seems they have bestowed a great honour on Hayley by referring to her by just her Christian name. Easy to understand why she loves Japan and its people Best wishes Grant

Hello Dave, That's an interesting remark. "Hayley" is obviously not a common name in Japan so I guess there's little risk to confuse her with another artist. Having said that, it could also work in many other countries. It's fairly easier to remember "Hayley" than "Hayley Westenra" Thank you Roger for creating a sub-board for this album. Stephany

I don't know if anyone already posted this link. But here are samples of other tracks on the album: www.universal-music.co.jp/classics/hayley_westenra/uccl1126japanesesongs.html#uccl5004All the songs suit her voice very well. Track No.5 is an arrangement of "Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep" (a different tune than the one Katherine sang). Hayley's voice has matured so much since Treasure/Celtic Treasure. I can't wait for her next international album. Her voice is even more lovely than ever.
