Hi Grant and Roger Likewise, I've pre-ordered both now. Perhaps at this rate it will go straight to No 1 in Japan when it's released on the strength of export sales alone Regards Colin

Hi! I came across the new CD when I ordered the album of Elizabeth Marvelly on HMV Japan a few days ago. Thank you, Stephany, for the translation. You remember a lot Japanese which is good for us. Can't wait for the release. I would love to hear Hayley sing Japanese. Thomas

I might hang about a bit and see if there is an easier way to get it. For example if someone like Steve Abbott manages to do something as Dave suggests he might, we ought to support him by buying our copies from him. It would not be good for him to lose money on it because we had all bought our copies direct from Japan at a higher price. There is still plenty of time.

:rollin I have also just ordered the Hayley Meets Japanese Songs CD through CD Japan website. If you want the first Press CD which includes bonus track "Shiroi Iro wa Koibito no Iro (Japanese Ver.), mini photobook, SHM-CD design you have to order by the 21st of April otherwise you just get the normal CD. Apparently the SHM-CD is an improved version of a normal CD so you get better quality sounds out of your CD player.

They can't increase the sample rate, which is the only realisitic way to improve the sound quality of a digital recording. Is this some sort of electronic enhancement? In my experience, the least you to Hayley's voice the better. You cannot improve it electronically and any attempt to do so just detracts from its beauty. Some of Hayley's records already have to much reverb, IMHO. She just doesn't need it. Martin

Martin The CD japan website explains it better but what happens is that a normal CD will scatter some of the laser beam so that you do not get all of back at the laser head whereas the SHM-CD is made of better materials and scatters the laser less thereby improving the sound quality.

Hi Ross, That's an interesting theory but from my knowledge of digital sound reproduction it sounds a highly dubious one to me, whatever CD Japan say. But it will probably last longer, I shall investigate. Cheers, Dave

A fair sentiment Martin, but as has already been said, the First Pressing is only available for another week and those of us who collect these special editions won't want to miss out! There is no guarantee that Steve A. will be able to do anything for us and any release here in the UK will almost certainly be the standard one. If Steve gets some of those, then I would buy one as it will be technically different and therefore collectible (takes off and hangs up anorak!! ) Best wishes Grant

Cheers, Dave I have found only one apparently independent review so far, one by a professed audiophile here in the Audio Asylum forums. It does of course need corroborating (or otherwise). I will copy it here, purely to add a cautionary note to the website (and record company) claims. I realise that most people going for the special edition will not be doing that to get the SHM-CD disc but for other reasons. So it probably doesn't sound any better (and may sound worse!) but I bet none of us can tell the difference. However, I suspect that it will last longer than a standard CD. Dave

I should modfiy my post, but I won't otherwise it will render your post meaningless Graham. Actually, I had sent an email last week that took three days to inform me that it had bounced. So five days is almost beleivable. Martin

Hi all, I've ordered this album for my little sister's birthday. According to CD Japan, she'll get the "First Press" edition even though I ordered it after April 21st. My sister is a J-pop fan so she is completely over the moon to see that Hayley is singing J-pop classics on this album. I cannot wait to "borrow" her the CD Stephany
