It is too bad and if you ask me a bit lazy for a company who puts content on a website to get it wrong so much. She was at the west lawn of the capital not the white house.
surely you brits are still happy about burning the white house down in the war of 1812 so you should know the differance.
Any google search would have many press releases from PBS stations across the USA with the correct information.
Sorry about the rant but I hate lazy people who are paid a lot of money to do their jobs

I think it's Hayley's official website, Roger... quoted in Stephany's post at the foot of the previous page. Their headline is wrong! But they did spell Capitol correctly! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifShe was at the west lawn of the capital not the white house. Monte (Sorry Monte, I couldn't resist! ) Cheers, Dave

Thanks Dave - I hadn't had time to check back in the thread when I asked the question. Yes, that does seem to have been something of a faux pas but we don't know where they received the information from. Ideally, all information should be thoroughly checked regardless of the source but, as I know all too well, it isn't always possible. Roger

Hayley's Official Website also includes a new picture in the 2008 gallery: They've captioned it: Hayley at the White HouseOh well. It's a lovely picture, nonetheless.

Hi Sonata, If you're interested, you can view the same picture in bigger size (and better quality!) here. You need to scroll down to the second picture to see it. Stephany

Hi Stephany,
Wow! Those pictures you posted were the greatest. Is the dress orange or red?
Thanks a bunch

Hayley was spectacular, beautiful, and the best artist of the event. If that doesn't endear her to the Americans they don't deserve her. See you all in Dublin and Limerick.

Well, despite shortage of time, I just got back from two and a half weeks in France, with no internet access, and h ave read through this thread. I will get to the rest later, but I have a concert ot go to tomorrow (Hayley of course) so it might have to wait a day or two. But my comments. First of all thanks to Tim for the coverage, Secondly, looking at the vids of the performance, Hayley sounded tentative. She seemed to be worried or unhappy about something, I could see it in her eyes. Her voice seemed a pale shadow of what we all know she can do (but still better than most of the singers on the planet).. Perhaps as has been suggested, she was not in control and didn't agree with something that was imposed on her. Did anyone notice that the words the choir sung were different from Hayley's? "Oh Shanandoah, I love your daughter" is a well known verse, but not one of the three that Hayley normally sings. I got the distinct impression that Hayley and the choir had rehearsed separately, and only come together at the last moment, and actually had not had enough time to sort out the differences. Perhaps that was what was bugging Hayley - I'm sure she likes things to be perfect. I look forward to what she has to say about it in her next autobiography. But I'm sure that overall it will have done Hayley good. Perhaps, if this leads to more work in the US for Hayley, the American public might get to hear her at her magnificent best. Then they might really take to her in a big way, as her talent deserves. Well, I can dream, can't I?
