The seasons they keep changing ....Just lately, it's Sissel. Next week depends on which CD first catches my eye! Celine? Eivor? Nana? Katherine Jenkins? Anjani? Giorgia? Elizabeth Marvelly? Delta Goodrem? Maria Callas? Dolores Keane? ....... Frank Patterson? Tommy Fleming? Sydney MacEwan? Neil Diamond? Andrea Bocelli? Liam Lawton? Simon and Garfunkel? ....... Maybe even 'the monks', although I prefer these monks: The Monks of Glenstal Abbey

Well, it's a difficult question in the first place to ask for a favourite artist! I listen to such a variety that each artst has their uses for every mood or whim I'm on. Hayley is not even in my top five, but that does not mean she is not one of my favourites - I just have so many! I have seen Hayley live more than other artist. I think my favourite artist is probably an obscure violinist named Emilie Autumn, though she has a cult following. My second favourite (who was my favourite for six years before Emilie came under my radar) is Sarah Brightman. After those two, I couldn't possibly put my favourites in order! But they include the following in no order: Tarja Turunen, Hayley Westenra, Josh Groban, Keedie, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Kate Bush, Emma Shapplin, Dario Marianelli, Patrick Doyle, Era, Gregorian, Cantamus, Enigma, Within Temptation, Nightwish, Matchbox Twenty, Sweetbox, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, Katherine Jenkins, All Angels. That may seem like a long list, but when I like an artist I am normally overly enthusiastic! Every single one has a place in my heart.

Best female voice is Hayley, unquestionably. Best male would be Mario Lanza.
Favourite singer is a changeable thing, for me.

My choice for best male is Pavarotti. Although I like Lanza as well.

Over the years, I have had a few favourite female singers but someone else always took over the top spot fairly quickly. Then Hayley came along and stayed there! Based on what I have heard so far, I think my second favourite is currently Faryl.
The male singer who I have always admired the most isn't found in the classical department but it has to be John Denver.

Such a hard choice!
I think I'll have to go with one male & one female: Josh Groban & Emma Shapplin!

At this moment in time seeing not only herself as she is but the enormous potential already being implied, Faryl Smith.

Don't know/ Don't care... Hayley has very rapidly become my number one though! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifDon't get me wrong, I love music...I just like such a wide range, and my preferences change from week to week. I'm guessing second fave would be somewhere in the Rock genre..

Tough question Being an all round classical fan, I like performers as well as composers. #1 performer - Hayley - without a doubt! #2 place performer - Antigoni Goni - an amazing Greek guitarist i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifMy #1 favourite composer would probably be John Duarte - a brilliant 100% English classical guitar composer! #2 place goes to Augustin Barrios Mangore ,a brilliant Paraguayan guitar composer! Cheers! Ben

This was tougher to answer than I expected. I can’t think of anyone whose voice alone affects me like Hayley. But pressed, I’d say Natalie Maines, the lead singer for the Dixie Chicks (shout out to Spiderman).
As for male singers, his voice is not exactly a thing of beauty, but for all the things that I love – great songwriting, musicianship and a voice that tells a thousand stories – I can never get enough of Mark Knopfler.

Hi All, Hayley is No. 1 (since 2005) & more recently the flabbergasting Rhydian is my No. 2 !!!!!!! (I've even played Michael Crawford's Music of the Night against Rhydian's to try to find if Rhydian's lost colour against it....I don't think it does....amazingly.) Incidentally I'm amazed that no one else has mentioned Rhydian as their No. 2 !!!!! Graeme
