Here's a tough question in search of interesting answers:
If Hayley Westenra is your favourite singer, who is your second favourite?

wow-that is a hard question!! I like Katherine Jenkins, but only some songs. I like pretty much everything Hayley has recorded! I like Josh Groban, but not his newer stuff where he sings so much falsetto. But I like pretty much everything Hayley has recorded!!! And Michael Buble....he is big here in Canada for Sinatra type music ...is great. But I like pretty much everything Hayley has recorded!!!! Stef R

Hey Steve it's not 'if'; Hayley IS my favourite singer of all time Anyway it's not that hard for me to say who's my second favourite. It will have to be Andrea Bocelli. If you ask me who follows Andrea, I will probably say Sarah Brightman or Kate Bush. How about you? You've asked us the question, but haven't told us about your own preference. Who's your second favourite then?

Hayley is my No. 1 favorite female singer. I find it hard to compare female singers vs. male singers - it's like comparing apples and oranges. They're different.
My No. 1 male singer is Anthony Kearns from The Irish Tenors.
I don't know who comes in as 2nd, though. Probably Katherine Jenkins.

Hayley is definitely my #1 fave!
2nd place goes to Bob Dylan. (Wouldn't it be cool if she recorded a Dylan tune?)

Well, Hayley is definitely no 1. For number 2 probably Katherine Jenkins, although sometimes I think Sandy Denny. Sandy at her best was sublime, but she often was not at her best. I also wonder what Sophie Westenra sounds like these day's. The last time I heard her sing she was an up and coming Hayley!
Male singers are much harder, but for me I think no 1 is Freddy Mercury, and no 2 Roy Orbison.

My no. 2 for a few years now has been Anna Netrebko. A completely different personality from Hayley, even a different genre (true Opera). And she's singing at the Classical Brits tomorrow, 2nd time I'll have seen her sing "live" (I've failed to get tickets to any of her always sold-out London Operas in recent years). If anyone saw Anna sing, act and dance her wonderful and quite unique performance last year on the Last Night of the Proms, "My Lips Kiss With Such Fire" by Franz Lehar, they will know exactly why I like her. Definitely more than just a singer! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifwww.youtube.com/watch?v=p_kaOYC_Fwwand another (elsewhere): www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tUq8Q_b8Lg&NR=1Dave

Hmm, female would PROBABLY be Lynn Hilary, yet could be many other singers too. Male is Damian McGinty hands down. Now, which of these two singers do I prefer? I honestly don't know. ~NL

My favourite female is decidedly Hayley. For the second place I really don't know, there are a lot of female artist I love, like Tori or Sarah or Celine.
That's why I choose a male and with no doubt this is Bryan Adams. I listen to him since I was a little child, thanks to my rock parents.
I love almost all of his songs, specially Please Forgive Me and Do I Have To Say The Words.

Hayley knocked three favourite female artists off the top for me !
Came straight in at No. 1.......She just blew them all away......
Tori Amos..Nana Mouskouri..Olivia Newton John and many others.
But my second favourite artist has to be Leonard Cohen and people would give me an earful if I played six of his albums in a row.......

I would have to say Celine Dion is second. That's because she was my favorite before I got to know Hayley! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Now that I know Hayley though, there is no one at number one... Accept for Hayley! Dori

Well, I used to like Sarah Brightman. And Sandy Denny as I mentioned. Then along came Hayley and Katherine, and I heard them both for the first time, live, within the space of half an hour. That concert simply blew everyone else I had ever heard out of the water. So I said Katherine for number two, but after the Classical Brits, I can see where Dave is coming from with Anna Netrebko.

My second favourite always used to vary from one week to the next but, for some time now, there has been one who I particularly like - Lisa Kelly.
