Yes, and I still remember the movie that Hayley and Aled Jones were supposed to do a duet for was "shelved", and we haven't heard anything about it since. I doubt a movie about King Charlemagne (I think that's what it was) would've been a very big movie, anyway. I do wonder what kinds of things Howard Shore will do now, with no LOTR or Hobbit to do anymore, and if he'd ever consider Hayley for any future scores he might do. Oh, well. Anyway, here's the announcement about Billy Boyd's song: Now, here's "The Edge of Night" from the Return of the King: I figured out that somehow the sound was muted in youtube for me for some reason! I have no idea how or why, but I have sound back now!

Hello Libby! If you're not hearing any sound on YouTube, check the loudspeaker icon at the bottom of the frame. If you see a little cross the sound is muted, then click on the icon or move the volume control slider to restore it. Richard

Below Pippin's video, I did say I discovered it was muted somehow, though it's still a mystery to me how it got that way. I might have bumped it at some point, but why would that render all videos muted just because of that? Oh well, it's all fixed now, anyway.

The world premiere of The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies will be in London, on Dec. 1st! Now I'm really hoping that Hayley could go to this one! Since it will be close to home, and because she's from New Zealand, where the movies are made, I think it's only fitting that she should be there. If she couldn't sing for the movie, why not attend the world premiere? But, most people will be paying attention to the beloved Hobbit cast, but I would dearly love to see Hayley at this event, hopefully wearing an ethereal dress to fit in with the elven characters. Maybe something with a delicate pale green or blue (something Arwen or Galadriel might wear), with some sheer material on it somewhere. You know, like the sleeves, somewhere appropriate, mind you. LOL Maybe a few sparkles. Yes, I am attempting to design Hayley's potential Hobbit premiere dress. LOL

Yes, I saw your tweets Libby. It would be special if she decided to do it. You never know, she might!

It might be down to her management, though, but she might be able to make requests. She doesn't appear to have noticed my tweets anyway.

Quite often Hayley seems to ignore our tweets. Then sometime later she does something that makes you think she might have done. But you can never be sure. Sometimes actions speak louder than words.

Well, anyway, I'm just going to leave it alone now. I sort of wonder if her outing in August was it for the year. They don't seem to give her more than 1 or 2 per year.

There's a 90 second clip at Amazon of The Last Goodbye! www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00PBENZK2/ref=dm_ws_tlw_trk20?ie=UTF8&qid=1415354154&sr=1-4It's hard to really judge from this small sample, but Billy Boyd sounds great, and it sounded pretty good. I'm sure once I hear the whole thing a few times, I'll enjoy it very much. As much as I still criticize the Ed Sheeran song, I See Fire, I also enjoy that song. It's mainly the beginning of the song, and a few of the lyrics, that put me off originally because I thought it didn't really suit the story. But I still like the song overall. The idea of Hayley singing for the movies seemed like such a great idea when I first wrote to PJ, and I felt so passionate and almost confident about it. But as time passed, with all the delays in making the movie, and then finally seeing it, my confidence waned, and seeing how masculine the movies were, I started to doubt that Hayley would really fit all that well. At least the way they told the story. Hayley's voice would have worked perfectly for the singing in Mirkwood, if they had actually used that scene. But they didn't, unless it's in the extended edition, which I don't have yet.

Now, there is a music video to go with the song, The Last Goodbye. It's absolutely wonderful! It shows Billy Boyd singing it, as well as scenes from the LOTR and the Hobbit, including scenes from the new movie, and also behind the scenes of both movies. Seeing all those memorable, exciting, and/or emotional scenes made the song that much more beautiful to watch. One of those things that makes me get cold and warm at the same time. I love it when a song or performance does that to me!
