Hi Oksy We haven't spoken for a while - I hope you are well I just had to tell you that your portrait is just fantastic. You really are a very talanted young lady. Have you tried a self portrait ? Just an idea. Take care and thanks for sharing. Mark x

Thanks Richard / Taylor. That is a wonderful collection of work. It must be quite a pleasure to spend one's day in the study of beauty.

Artistically, a very close resemblance but personally I prefer Hayley smiling rather than this "solemn" portrayal.

I'm having trouble placing which photo that is. It looks like it's from the photoshoot where she's wearing that leather jacket and heavy eye makeup, maybe.

Dunno Libby, but her hair was never like that. But perhaps artistic licence. And all of these are much better than I could do, so I shouldn't quibble.

The likeness is actually pretty accurate, Martin. Though if I'd never seen her before, and you put that next to a photo of how she "normally" looks, then I would probably think they were different people.

I'll concede that Libby. Visual art was never my thing, I am much more into sound and music and languages. I suffered for it yesterday, six hours singing in Leicester Cathedral to record two episodes of Song of Praise for the BBC. My throat was done for, and it gives me huge respect and admiration for singers like Hayley who do it regularly. The rehearsals and sound checks are enough, before you even get round to the real thing. I also admire those who are talented artists, I was always bottom of my class at school for art, and gave it up as soon as I could. Drawings like that are certainly something I could never do, and somehow I managed to scrape through the engineering drawing training that I needed to become an engineer. But it wasn't easy. The freehand sketching was especially dire. I just don't think in pictures. I think in sounds and words. I think Hayley does too, although she is better at pictures than I am. Perhaps that is why I hardly ever watch TV or films. I much prefer to listen to music. But, perversely, I do enjoy photography.
