For the benefit of any recent members who may not have seen them, there are a fine collection of drawings, mainly of Hayley, which begin HERE. They were drawn by amarantine, one of our members in Indonesia, aged 15. I think they are excellent and deserve a link from this Art thread. Roger

Hi Dave! Good job on your Hayley drawing! I like the colours... and the way you managed to convey the relaxed feeling of the original photo. I attempted to do a Hayley drawing last year, but Amarantine's picture puts it to shame. It was supposed to be from the cover of the UK Odyssey, but since I don't think it looks much like Hayley, I'll just call it "Portrait of a Girl." Click on the thumbnail to enlarge.. Oksy PS. Thanks for that link, Roger. I looked through them again.. she is very talented!

Hi Oksy, I think your drawing is super. It is a very different style to Amarantine's but with equally pleasing results. I can certainly see it is Hayley. Roger

Oksy, that drawing is class. The eyes really stand out for me. Hardest thing for me is eyes. If you spend some time just drawing various parts, e.g. a page of eyes, a page of noses etc, you'll get the hang of it.
That drawing, you can tell its Hayley, but it reminds me of someone else, I can't think of it now... Its the mouth that makes me think of someone... The eyes look like Hayleys. I might do another drawing soon, maybe just pencil, no colour this time.
Might do one from her "pure" days.

Thank you guys! I'm glad you like it... even if I don't, lol. And we can't forget Roger's gorgeous Hayley sketch, can we? It's well worth a look: hwi.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Miscellaneous&action=display&thread=1147963913And, backtracking a little bit, I just realized I had totally forgotten to comment on the bracelet Dori's mom made. Dori, tell her I think it's absolutely gorgeous. The shell in the middle is beautiful, and the lace is my favourite shade of green. I hope Hayley gets it soon -- I know she'll love it! Oksy

Hi everyone! This thread hasn't been updated in a while, and I don't have anything new to share, but I've discovered some amazing artists on the internet which I want to tell you about: Ilana Yahav: She creates sand art using nothing but her own two hands, a lit table-top, and ... well... sand. Her videos are amazing... it's like art in motion. Here are two of my favourites: www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2pLHLOnG6Iwww.youtube.com/watch?v=rdDHsehW01MWillard Wigan: creates art in the eye of a needle... literally. You have to use a microscope to see it. www.willard-wigan.com/Amazing, eh?

Hey guys! Not sure if this should go into the art or photography thread, since it's a bit of both. I used Paintshop Pro to layer the pencil drawing over the photograph (which is actually the sun setting over a line of condensation on a window). Oksy

Oksy, that is just brilliant. The birds (gulls?) look real and the guy in the boat has real character. I love it. Roger
