Hi Steve, Needless to add to Roger's comment... (but I will anyway!) don't forget to take a selection of Hayley CDs too for the Walkman! I still haven't bought an iPod... I'm quite happy with my CDs and Bose earphones... (they're brilliant for travelling) I know Hayley wouldn't be without her iPod.. One of these days I may invest in one though. Do you have one? In the house I listen to Hayley through a custom hi-fi system (Denon Amp and CD Player) with a Bose 6 way speaker system - 2 x Bose 301 Music monitors (Series II) and 2 x Bose 301 Music monitors (series III) and 2 satellite speakers. It sounds sweet! The sound takes you to another dimension altogether! Roger, do you have an iPod? Regards, Andrew

Hi Andrew, Firstly thank you for your PM, it is interesting to hear how your studies are coming along! Lets hope Newmarket can be the first of many! Anyway, where were we oh yes Ipods, I and Stuart have 60Gig Cowan Iaudio X5's In my opinion better than ipods, I have 43,000 MP3's and 130 music video's on it, including the whole NZ live DVD in single song chunks. See www.cowonamerica.com/products/iaudio/x5/So wherever we go, Hayley goes with us, you can convert all types of video to X5. I have all of Gerrit's videos from the Russell and Hayley site, and every track that Hayley has released except those only on Walking in the Air. I will bring it to Newmarket and Wisley if anyone wants a demonstration. Better go and spend some time with my wife now or I am going to get shot at dawn! early start tomorrow! Steve H

Hi Steve, Gosh- I can see you're the man to see for advice when it comes to iPods! I'm not sure I'd even know how to switch an iPod on! I think perhaps you should set up a demonstration stand at Newmarket for all the Hayley fans- old and new! Perhaps your jealous wife has confiscated your iPod... Can you imagine anything worse than that? Take Care, Andrew

With all this talk about mp3s and ipods I have to say, I have not the slightest interest in portable music. Even in the car, i usually listen to Radio 5 Live (a speech station) as Roger can confirm - or nothing at all. There's too much background noise for music on the move, I don't even have a working car cassette player, never mind CD player or ipod! And there are too many distractions for music when on the move out of the car. However, the mp3/ipod freaks among you may be interested to know that over 100 people officially downloaded the complete new UK edition of Odyssey in the first half of this week - that's more than double Russell Watson's album downloads (who is above Hayley in the main chart) and treble Andrea Bocelli's. I would seem that some (new?) Hayley fans are somewhat more "switched on" to portable music than I am and I wonder if it reflects a shift among Hayley fans to a slightly younger demographic than before? If so, I think this can only be good for Hayley. Cheers, Dave

Well, I'll have you know I've gotten my entire school hooked on Hayley. Of course there's only 160 of us... One girl has even sent copies of 'Odyssey' to her friends in Lebanon! But I'll also mention that a lot of older men and women are getting iPods and other mp3 players. I've noticed on the bus I ride to and from school that most of the adults have an iPod or mp3 player. I think it's to tune us teenagers out! Now, to get this back on topic...I'm a student. I nannied in the summer and take the occasional babysitting job, but otherwise I'm not employed. I'm looking though, have to save up for college! <3 Caite

Just finished my last final exam today so if everything goes as planned, I'll have to remove my "student" title in couple of months But I'll also mention that a lot of older men and women are getting iPods and other mp3 players. I've noticed on the bus I ride to and from school that most of the adults have an iPod or mp3 player. I think it's to tune us teenagers out! I'm certainly guilty of doing that and I've been using noise isolation earbuds while commuting to school (and catch up on sleep) i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Probably won't be using it now since I'll be walking to work everyday. And he's not joking Caite. I srtil haven't got round all the boards and only yesterday Roger pointed out I'd missed one, in response to my suggestion such a board should be started. And I am by no means the most frequent poster! All the best Peter

Roger, do you have an iPod? Regards, Andrew Hi Andrew, No I don't have an iPod and I doubt if I would ever get one. Mind you, I said that about a computer three years ago! I have a portable CD player but that doesn't get used very often so i couldn't really justify an iPod. Ask me again in three years' time and I'll probably have one! Roger

That is brilliant. In fact, on Wednesday, HWI was visited by someone in the Lebanon which we think is the first time ever. I wonder if it is the same person to whom your friend sent a CD. Don't know anyone in Outer Mongolia do you? Roger

Hi All, What an interesting thread - and an insight into everyone's views on MP3 players in the bargain. Re occupations, I am a headteacher of a large Primary School in Southwark, South East London. We have nearly 500 pupils and many Hayley fans as she visited the school in November and sung Pokarekare Ana to the whole school. :rollin Hayley has since agreed to become a friend of the school and we are busy raising money for her UNICEF appeal . I am also an OFSTED school inspector. On MP3s, I couldn't be without my iAudio player. I have all my video clips of Hayley performing on TV and the Hayley live DVD, not to mention all my music. Regards Stuart
