I actually looked through all the 50 pages ( at the time ) of the Photography thread last weekend....Love, Marianne Hi Marianne, That got me thinking (which is a rare event in itself!) so I have just taken a look around the forum to check some facts. With 795 replies, I find this is the busiest thread that this forum has ever had! And it was only started in March last year! Thanks for starting it, Caite. I'll send you the bill shortly! Roger

Hi Marianne Thanks for sharing this photo with us. I must say I find it rather haunting (not sure if thats the word I am looking for). The time that it was taken - post war Germany I guess, sort of makes you think more deeply about what you are seeing. Looking at the background, I am curious to know where you were when this was taken. Obviously, if for any reason at all you would rather not say, please forget I asked Thanks again for sharing Best wishes Mark

You are not helping Belinda. These lovely pictures are of NZ in summer--clearly a riot of colour. I supose this is your UNsubtle way of telling me to come over twice: for Hayley in September and then again for the summer!

It is superb, Grant. Did she never seek a gallery to exhibit them and sell?

You guys are so sweet! Thank you for your comments! Andrew: That is so kind of you to suggest! I've definitely thought of doing that kind of thing in the future, maybe selling my photos as stock photography... But that wouldn't be possible right now, as I'd need a really good camera, lots of experience, and special lights and backgrounds to work with. However, I've lately been looking for magazines that might want to publish my work, so I'll see if that takes me anywhere. Grant: It's a good idea, but when I point at the sky, it's too bright for the frost to show up, and when I point to the ground, the snow is too white. So this is the only way I can get the frost to be visible. Unless I have trees in the background like in these shots. (These are also heavily processed to bring out the textures). Dave, Marianne, Roger, and Peter: Thank you for your kind words! Oksy

The foto was taken where I grew up for 15 years. It is a refugee camp for families who have not been able to finance a flat somewhere.... We are standing in front of the local Day Care Centre, where I spent my after school hours from the age of 5. My mum was working on and off. I was very concscious of my somewhat squalid surroundings, but loved my "Kindergarten" years !! When admitted to a more fancy school, I used to ride home way past this area so as to avoid detection from living in that area !! Never mind, we were a very close family and dearly loved by my mum !! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifLove, Marianne

Once again, these are superb shots Oksi. Sharing thoughts as they come to my mind, rather than simply shooting the subject, is it worth bearing something else in mind? For instance, these last photos you have shared with us, I was thinking that properly blended, say blocks of eight, dependent upon the size of the original, they would make a repeating block for a wallpaper pattern. Another possible commercial outlook, but while much processing will be required, you need to bear the end product in mind as you select your original shots.

Hello Oksana Your latest two frost photographs are simply amazing. Regarding my previous comments. It's easy to make suggestions not knowing the circumstances (like the competition judge who suggests you stand further back when you are already standing on the edge of a cliff!! ) Best wishes Grant
