A superb picture of the moon in Fareham Dave. Thanks for sharing. Yes, a tripod and trigger release are useful--its the way I've always shot stage shows but it isn't the sort of equipment you can hide in a sandwich box if you're trying to evade security. Oh I don't know, though. Picnic for 4, one very large baguette!

Fully behind you Belinda in that sentiment. Quality not quantity gives a better chance for others to be included in the current limelight, what ever time worldwide that 'current' time might be. My instinctive reaction to your comment was to say that I tend to post alternately in batches quickly (a day or two) and then minimally over a whole week. It depends upon the subjects under debate at any particular time. I've noticed over the last few days creeping up to the one thousandth post and honestly, I didn't realise until just this moment I. think this is the post that takes me into 1,000 posts! I was only going to say that i deliberately refrained from posting just to push it! Peter S.

Some lovely pictures all round ksmith8. I particularly love the lakeside ones and here's the reason.
When either of us are in the other's country (although for my Boston friend both countries are his!) we always make a point of dipping a toe into the water. Just a point of principle, that we are familiar with the opposite side! And that is REGARDLESS of the weather and the season! Peter S.

That's a fast response to a one thousandth post. I've only just taken it in myself! Thank you Andrew for your good wishes. Peter S

That creates yet another category this week, the Mega Maestro (or should that be for 1024 posts - let's not be picky). Currently at Number 5 in the charts and set for a long innings in the Top Ten. Long may you continue to push the button (on the mouse and on the camera).

Hi Dave, Many thanks for your photograph of "The Moon from Fareham" - it's outstanding! Don't spend too long staring at the sky when there's a full moon! Regards, Andrew Somebody might Paint it Black in front of your eyes. Just heard on the weather forecast - Partial Lunar Eclipse due tonight. www.hermit.org/Eclipse/That is scary - she must be flying back tonight.

Did anyone catch it? By the time I could see the moon in the East Midlands it was back to it's full brilliance, earlier very low on the horizon.

Congrats. from me too Peter. If the number of posts were also multiplied by the average number of words per post & that were made as the qualification for these lofty titles, then Peter, I think you might be Grand Emperor of HWI. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifMany Thanks for all your excellent contributions. Thank you very much Drew and Richard for your good wishes. I will endeavour to render service to the same standard for the next 1,000--Richard and Roger I think has shown that is possible!. I shall NOT sit on my laurels--far too uncomfortable!! Peter S.

I was going up the latest 30 posts noting in my mind, Graemek, Thomas and now your good self, intending to add to the post I made as soon as I came on, thanking Andrew and Drew. Then I decided I should respond to your good humour, so may I include all three of you in my quip and thanks for your good wishes? Peter S.

Well we#'ve had 14 posts with no photos so I'll post another moon I think This is last night's full moon - the closest full moon to earth this year, so i am told. Pentax DL2 SLR, 50-200 zoom at 200mm, manually set 200 ISO, auto shutter/aperture at 1/750 sec F11, auto exposure spot metering, auto focus, cropped and enlarged. I had to increase the contrast and turn down the brightness to show all the detail. Full Moon from Fareham, September 7th, about 1 am. Dave
