"Give me a place to stand, and I will move the Earth".Hi Peter, I think you will find that your quotation was from Archimedes, circa 235 BC...I learned that one 19 years ago in my O-Grade Physics class... As it happens, that would just have been about the time when Hayley was born! How very appropriate! When Hayley stands in front of a microphone she can move the world with her singing! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

He will doubtless tell me who it was (Newton?) who said that given a lever long eough he could move the earth. The only problem is, he never explained where he was going to place his fulcrum! I think Roger is cooking the same pie in the sky! Of course, I'm nowhere near enough to my dotage to be able to recall so many years back to when I was 19! [Edit 10:54BST. Actually, of course, 'Ordinary' levels were 15, weren't they?]. I spell these levels out of courtesy to our American friends who may be perplexed, or insulted, by the UK's traditional abbreviations. As Churchill said, two naitons divided by a common language and when you are first over there it can be quite embarrassing--for your American friends!] Peter

Hi All, Some great pictures here since I last looked. Here are a few I have taken recently. Spring is such a good time for photography! Hope you like them! Stuart

I sure do like them Stuart. The intensity of the yellow field, the silhouette of the reed mace against the water, and the shimmering light between the trees make a good contrasting set.
I really must drag myself away from this forum one day and take my camera out!

Some lovely shots Stuart H. Makes one forget how erratic spring has been weatherwise.

Hi Peter,
Yes it has been a case of dashing out with the camera when the weather permits. There doesn't seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel re the weather and I am really hoping that things brighten up for Wisley and Newmarket! I hope to take the camera then and the only reason I'm "out and about"with it is that I want to know how it ticks before I really need it. Its a digital SLR Olympus E500 and I'm very pleased with it so far. hope to meet you at one of the next round of concerts. I'm going to Cadogan Hall as well, but thankfully - thats INDOORS!!!
Regards
Stuart

With so many going to Cadaogan Hall will there be room for any nonHWI members? We surely shouldn't miss one another!

Modification, I forgot the twiddly bits! Interesting thought, Belinda, or will we spend too much time arguing who is going to be official photographer that we completely miss Hayley? Settle it by producing a slide show of each of us shooting one another in sequence? Or possibly do two shots with Hayley included to cover the person taking the photograph and publish both? Peter

Nah! We'll just do what we usually do. Line ourselves up and pass each camera in turn to Steve Abbott. I knew he'd come in useful one day! LOL

It will be good to see them all. Peter What I meant from that last comment was that it would be good to see Steve again. In my mind I associaetd him with (if there) Fiona and Ian and had also in mind the camerarderie of Jill. Not just all HWI people. I obviously did not express what was actually in my mind's eye! It just occurs to me now while writing, whether Jll (or Gerald) might be there, simply hopping on a plane to be supportive of Hayley during this trying time. Hopefuly, they will feel they needn't now that (a) she is so close to coming home anyway and (b) in the UK she's got more people she knows in the audience and who will hope to be around her if she is available afterwards.More eyes, more people she's familiar with should make her feel more comfortable and help get her back to herself. Peter
