Hi All, At www.classicalrelatedperformances.com/andreabocelli.htm I have just uploaded 10 new Andrea Bocelli videos, all thanks to Allen. Four of them feature "Helena" ( ) in L'abitudine in various versions. Then there are two versions of E viva per le, and four other songs: Melodramma In canto Aranjuez Canto della terra. Personally, I like In canto very much. It's from the Oslo Nobel Peace Prize concert 2004. Enjoy! Gerrit

Four of them feature "Helena" ( ) in L'abitudine in various versions. Hi Gerrit, I believe her full name is "Helèna Hellwig" but she was referred to as Helena on Andrea's CD. The performances from Last Night of the Proms are very nice, thanks! The english translation is very helpful BTW, for the record, "WMA 2002" = World Music Awards 2002. I had to limit the file name to less than 65 characters on CDR. Allen

Hi Gerrit, I am surprised to see no threads about Andrea Bocelli in the HWI forum before this one that you started a few weeks ago. In the coming weeks there is going to be a huge Andrea "push" before the launch of his next album in March in the UK, sooner Stateside I think (a 'pop' album called Amore). I will have a good look at your Bocelli video page - thanks also to Allen for providing videos! Soon, I will be scanning a six page spread about Andrea, published today in this week's Music Week - but I'd better wait until, perhaps, the weekend for obvious reasons. There are also five pages of adverts about him. The article makes good reading, watch this space! One thing I noticed, Andrea has sold 15 million classical albums Worldwide, and over 35 million "pop" albums - some (most?) of which are actually classical crossover. Not bad! Cheers, Dave

Hi Gerrit and Dave, Didn't know his album is coming out at the end of the month. So far we heard 3 songs from the album during the Gotta Skate special, looks like we have another chart topping album! It's already at #254 on amazon.com's sales rank. Interesting selection of songs, seems to be more "pop" than his older albums. I do notice there's a duet with Christina Aguilera, certainly very different from his usual choice of collaboration partners. Edit: looks like this is the reason: Recorded late in the summer at Bocelli’s Tuscan home studio overlooking the coast, the album exudes the natural beauty and breathtaking surroundings evident in Italy. Amore marks the only album David Foster has made outside of his Californian studio complex in two decades. This was also most musically gratifying to date for Andrea; Allen

Here is the Andrea Bocelli article I promised, from Music Week in the issue dated 21st January 2006. Seven days have now elapsed since publication so I'm going to link to it in my personal webspace (for a while). Click on the thumbnails below to get to full sized readable scans of the article - these should display nicely in Internet Explorer if it is maximised at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768. Or you can right click to "Save Target As" and download the images directly. The scans would have been very hard to read directly in the forum without wrecking forum formatting; and the message sizes would have been *huge*. Andrea and Hayley's "Vivo Per Lei" DuetAt last I've managed to start watching the videos on Gerrit's Bocelli page but no matter how many different videos I watched, I kept coming back to Hayley's "Gotta Skate" duet "Vivo Per Lei". It's become like a drug - I just can't leave it alone! What makes this video even better is the excellence of the technical quality - not only a very good quality Windows Media file but *excellent* sound too, at 128 kbps. Very nicely done, Allen and Gerrit! But there has been one (only one) disconcerting thing about this video - at 3m. 56s into the video, there is a sound gap of 0.2 seconds and boy, my Media Player certainly likes to make a fuss about it. So I set about fixing it. And I did it too... eventually (but a perfect excuse to play it again and again and again..... i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif ). So if anyone else is disconcerted by this tiny sound gap, disconcert no longer as it's fixed and I've uploaded it to my personal webspace (I'm sure Allen and Gerrit won't mind). You can play "spot the join" There are a couple of other very subtle changes, too . I don't think there are any perceptible changes to the video or audio quality. Speaking of which, I also extracted the updated audio file, in case the 20 MB video file is too big for anyone - I've uploaded that too. So here they are: Video (528 kbps, 20 MB) and Audio only (128 kbps, 5 MB) I think this is the best duet I've ever heard Hayley sing - bar none. Thanks again Allen and Gerrit. Now, back to the video, played loud! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif [glow=blue,5,1200]C'est Magnifique!!! [/glow] [/center] Dave

Hello Dave and Jenny! That really is a beautiful clip, and I enjoyed watching it again. If Hayley sings a duet (or should I say quintet?) with Il Divo, "Vivo Per Lei" would be the perfect song! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard

Thanks Dave. I noticed the sound interruption problem from the video too. Not sure whether it came from the original broadcast or problem during transmission from the cable company. Unfortunately I decided to make the switch from analog cable to digital cable just minutes before the performance so the cable box was probably downloading data in the background and caused the problem. Guess it's a small price to pay for cleaner video. I have a higher quality svcd (b-i-g 100M file) for those who are interested i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifToo bad the show won't be shown again til March on CBC Hopefully the audio will be perfect and we can find the missing 0.2 seconds!! Oh no... what have you done Dave? You actually found a song that managed to kick Hayley's "Listen to the Wind" off my playlist! Nevertheless, you did a great job with the audio edit, without the original video, I can't even tell where the edit was! "Vivo Pei Lei" has always been one of my favourite Andrea Bocelli songs, now with Hayley's exclusive English version being the best one!! It's so beautiful, wonder if Jamie and David used it for their wedding? Any news on whether there's plan for a studio recording for the song? Allen

Allen Well Allen, I'd LOVE the full 1,000 gigabyte version if you can make it available! If you can, please let me know the link in the usual way I was the sneakiest I've ever been with the audio edit (how do you put something there, where before there was nothing? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif ) and the video is completely untouched! And this performance has kicked nearly EVERYTHING off my playlist at the moment. I guess I'm a sucker for the romantic Italian ballad (that goes back to one of the early winners of the Eurovisian Song Contest - Gigliola Cinquetti in 1964 (she still has the joint biggest ever winning margin!) But I'm afraid I know of no plan for Hayley to record this duet for release on an album. I'll certainly mention it the next time I speak to Hayley or Steve but that decision will be down to Bocelli's people - I am sure that Hayley would literally jump at the opportunity! Cheers, Dave

Hi all, Just noticed there's a 4.5 minutes promo/making of video feature on amazon.com's product page for Andrea Bocelli's Amore album. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CC1TGA/Good documentary, with samples from several tracks off the album. Definitely worth checking out. So far, my favourite track on the album is still Pero Te Extrano  Dave, I'll be uploading the mpg file later today. Allen
