Hi all,
Andrea Bocelli will be on "The View" (ABC) Monday Feb 13. Not sure about the details, only saw his name mentioned in the TV schedule.

Here is the Andrea Bocelli article I promised, from Music Week in the issue dated 21st January 2006. Seven days have now elapsed since publication so I'm going to link to it in my personal webspace (for a while). Dave Well, I finally got around to putting those scans on a new page at Classicalrelatedperformances: www.classicalrelatedperformances.com/musicweek210106.htmThe page is also accessible from the general Andrea Bocelli page there. Cheers, Gerrit

Hi, all! If anyone is interested, I have found a link on the web to a streaming audio (Windows Media Player required) of one of the tracks from Andrea Bocelli's newest album Amore. If you click on the link below, you will be able to hear the song entitled "Somos Novios," which is a duet sung by Bocelli and Christina Aguilera on his latest album. "Somos Novios" is a Spanish version of the popular standard "It's Impossible." This album, Amore, was just released in North America on 31st January, and I got it!!! It is a heavenly album, and every song is nostalgic and "delicious"! I believe that the album is scheduled for International release on 24th February and for release in the UK on 6th March. Gerrit Thanks Gerrit, especially for making the entire Gotta Skate video available. The performance of Vivo Per Lei seems to have a different mix from the original Canadian version as supplied by Allen, this is especially noticeable at the start where there is no applause and no fade-in of the instrumental introduction When you have a minute, I wonder if you can make this "version" of Vivo Per Lei available separately in as high quality as you dare? Pretty please? It was very interesting to see and hear Andrea singing I Can't Help Falling in love With you - in English! Cheers, Dave *dashes back to watching the rest of it*

Hi all, I've record couple of Andrea Bocelli TV appearances over the weekend, including one from NBA all-star game and the "at the Pyramids" special. Anyone interested? The problem is, there was audio problems with my TV reception during the NBA game so there was quite a bit of distortion in parts of the performance... Wondering how Gerrit managed to squeeze the entire Gotta Skate V show into 100M, that seems so impossible Allen

Hi Allen, As always, I would be interested in obtaining video material featuring Andrea Bocelli! Just recently, on one day, the website where I am hosting the videos, had in excess of 28,000 hits. Also, in the last 6 months, 3 people used a link on that site to sign up with the same web hoster, resulting in 6 months of free hosting and some 5000 MB extra storage - so the site is almost self-paying . Hehe, while avi and mpg are probably more universal standards in video-format, I've found that at a bit rate of between 300 and 350 kbps, WMV's take up about 2.5 MB per minute, with very acceptable sound and video quality. Cheers, Gerrit

Hi Dave, Managed to find some time to do the job earlier, but here is a WMV at 640 x 480, at 2Mbps. The file is 75MB (or thereabouts). It plays well full screen www.classicalrelatedperformances.com/hwi/clips/zo05/vivoperlei_gottaskate_dutchtv.wmvI'll leave it there for a while, but I don't intend to keep it there for ever. I have uploaded more videos to the Andrea Bocelli video page, www.classicalrelatedperformances.com/andreabocelli.htmI received a couple of videos from Allen, two of these from NBC Today, 24 February, broadcast from Torino (Because We believe and It's Impossible). Interestingly, Tim also sent me a copy of It's Impossible. And on Tim's version, the temperature seems a little higher than on Allen's. Interestingly, it seems that Andrea has the potential to raise the temperature, at least on Tim's video . Watch the temperature block on that one, just after Andrea starts singing i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCheers, Gerrit

Haha, interesting observation about the temperature Gerrit! It's impossible (pardon the pun)!! There was an interview of Andrea on CTV news last night and guess what they were talking about? Singing in cold weather in Italy i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifVicki: I thought Italy was always warm. Andrea: No, not very much, probably much more than in Canada. But for us, as you see, I have my scarf, because for us, it's cold enough.
Vicki: How is it singing in the freezing cold? Andrea: No problem because when you're singing, you're very concentrated.
(clip of Andrea performing Because We Believe)
Vicki: So, you're doing at the closing ceremony a song written by two Canadians. Andrea: Yea, in two days for the closing ceremonyy, and I'll perform Because We Believe, this song that we, me and David Foster, we have written just for the athletes for the olympics games.
Vicki: You and he have worked together a few times. Andrea: Yes. Vicki: He's a good guy, isn't he? Andrea: Yeah.
Vicki: You're pretty busy, aren't you? I mean you're popular, crazy popular. Andrea: The problem is that when you work so much, and you know the word you have to lose something. It's impossible to have everything.
Vicki: Congradulations on your platinum album. Andrea: Thank you very much. Vicki: Nice to see you Andrea. I do have a video clip of the interview by Vicki Gabereau, host of a local talk show. Msg me if anyone is interested Allen

Hi All,
At the Andrea video page I uploaded Andrea at The Pyramids (courtesy of Allen). This vidie has met with an enthusiastic respons from Andrea Bocelli fans - if I may quote:
Thank you Gerrit! Your site is wonderful and a godsend for those of us who missed some or all of these television performances for one reason or another. Andrea’s consert at the pyramids was Semplicemente Fantastico!! It was the first time I had seen Maria Luisa Borsi perform and I enjoyed her very much. Thank you Gerrit and thank you Allen from Canada and Tim from the US for your contributions.
..................
I've been busy and haven't gotten to post in a while. GerritK, the new videos are FANTASTIC! I sat watching Andrea at the Pyramids, and I honestly think I've hit another level of fanhood. Thanks Gerrit, and that really isn't saying enough. Baroque
..............................
This is a beautfiul video. The sound is really good for a video played on a computer. The picture was clearer than many I've seen playing on on my television. In the close ups, I could see every individual hair on Andrea's beard and many nuances in his expressions [often missed with these vidoes] with amazing clarity.
I thought I'd just share these with you. And there seems to be a snowball effect, as I have now just received 6 videos from a Andrea Bocelli fan in Hungary!
Gerrit
