Any details on who the three tenors might be? Hello Peter! I've had a search on Google, and I'm wondering if they might be these three singers from New Zealand who perform a comedy tribute act:- www.csnz.co.nz/default,4840,the_other_three_tenors.sm Perhaps Ross can find out for us. Richard

Very probably, Richard, good searching! They sound as though they could be fun. Now my naughty mind says, I wonder if Sophie would do a take off of her elder sister?! But then, is it possible for anyone to do a take off of Hayley without demeaning themselves. Hayley is so sincere but then, sister's do tend to know things others wouldn't but would their knowing be too close for the wider public to be aware? I haven't heard Sophie for a long time and I don't think she would try Pokera Kara Anna but they might try and sell her as 'the other Westenra'. Peter S.

Richard It could be these guys but I also found that there is a Three Tenors Tribute act from Australia and so it could be these guys too:- www.entertainoz.com.au/index.cfm?oid=11724&t=/Artists/Opera/The-Three-Tenors-Tribute-ShowA THREE TENORS SHOW WITH A DIFFERENCE Not only do they look like the real Three Tenors – they can sing! And what`s more; they can entertain! Beyond 30 years of experience. This is a Cabaret Show like no other. Three great voices singing the most noted songs of the century. From the ever popular operatic arias to English, Spanish and Italian Classics and also modern songs and ballads loved by all. The Three Tenors Tribute Show without doubt, performs the most Versatile, Sophisticated, Heart-felt Repertoire that any Show could possibly present in 2 hours. A truly great Show, performed in an environment of humor and dialogue by professional singers who enthrall and captivate their audience.

From what i have heard of Sophie, fine singer though she is, she doesn't appear to have Hayley's perfect pitch, control or vocal range, and any attempt to emulate Hayley would make that all too obvious. It would be unfair to mention power, since that is largely a function of age. I don't much like posting things like this. Sophie is a fine singer, and on the only occasion that I heard her live five years ago, I saw her as another potential Hayley. I thought she was great! Her recorded collaborations with Hayley, on the Little Drummer Boy on My Gift to You (aged 10), and her delightful contribution on Across the Universe of Time on Hayley's live from NZ DVD are well known. We don't really know what she sounds like now. She is certainly a good enough singer to make a career in music if that is what she wants. I'm sure that 90% of singers are worse. But she isn't another Hayley, and we shouldn't expect her to be. She is Sophie, and will make her own way in life, on her own terms, not as a pale reflection of her sister. I wish her all the best. Martin Yes, my last time hearing her live (as well as being reminded on the DVD goes back to that Palladium presentation (to which I presume you are referring, Martin?). You are absolutely right that she will work out her own way. My comment was really following the implication of 'take off' for which (which ever) the Three Tenors seem to be known, as well as their singing. In fact, it is arguable that Sophie might have to go out of her way NOT to cover what Hayley has covered, yet what is striking across the Westenra family is that they are such a wonderfully family-coherent bunch of complete individuals, so I don't think Sophie will have any difficulty in simply being Sophie! Hopefully Ross (I think it was Ross that first raised this issue, supported by Richard's researching) will have the opportunity to post some really telling videos which will be most exciting. Peter S.

To clear up any confusion about 'My Gift To You', Sophie joins Hayley on 'Do You Hear What I Hear?' and 'Through These Eyes'. She sounds wonderful, so I hope she'll duet with Hayley again in the future. Richard

Whoops, sorry - wrong song (cringes with embarassment)! It's me brian playing tricks again! I must have listened to Radio 2 (which is heavily plugging Terry Wogan/Aled Jones' version of LDB) more recently than MGTY. But I did play MGTY a few days ago!

Hi Dean and NL Umm yep!! The following photo taken by Roger at Newmarket in 2006 would seem to suggest that Sophie's dress did once belong to Hayley. Best wishes Grant

Well spotted, Northern Lights! It's good to see that Hayley and Sophie are firm believers in recycling. Richard
