Thank you for that connect Ross. Sophie is without doubt Sophie BUT look at that face on the microphone only picture. Recognise something with which we are all very familiar?Intensity of concentration on getting the delivery right! There's no doubt she's Hayley's sister! Peter S.

Well spotted, Northern Lights! It's good to see that Hayley and Sophie are firm believers in recycling. Richard Interesting response, Richard, but my response is what a wonderful delight of two sisters sharing. Speaks volumes of the Westenra family. Oh and by the way, Great on you Sophie. I look forward to meeting you all some time in the future (that includes Isaac) poor fellow, completely dominated by two sisters What a life! Bet he's loving every minute. Peter S.

Maybe you all won't like me saying this but I think it is sort of lame that Sophie is wearing a dress that Hayley performed in. I share clothes with my sisters too but pictures of me are not on the WORLD wide web! my friends and I all agree-just looks like she didn't bother getting herself something new.........she must have known that someone on this forum would recognize the dress and point out the fact that it was Hayleys!

Oh come-on, Annie. I accept it is good getting a girl's view in this forum, especially a new and young one and I would not wish to discourage you one bit, but Sophie is at university doing this as a 'side gig' for fun and also perhaps to try her hand out. I doubt if this is one of the dresses that cost Hayley nearly £1,000 but I'll bet it is worth far more than she would get 'off the peg' in a 'good' chain, or even an exclusive one. Now here, I am really going to stick my neck out. I am going to guess the following scenario. A dress for a show like this is going to need money a student can't afford, so, 'Mum, thanks for the offer to buy me one but I want to make my own way and Hales has told me I can rummage her wardrobe of clothes she is no longer using, so I'd like to make do.' Come on, Annie, give the kid a break. This is a family thing. Peter S.

This is family thing. I think this is a key thing that most people here know about Hayley's Family, they tried to do everything together (not as easy now) and why should sophie not use a dress that (is/was/similar to) Hayley's and it is one that is very fitting for the event in question. It has been made clear how close Hayley, Sophie & Issac are, so I'm sure that Hayley would love to help sophie as much as she can during her brief visits back home This is fact makes me think more of Sophie and Hayley, That they can continue being like when they were busking all them years ago Well Done Dean

'Mum, thanks for the offer to buy me one but I want to make my own way and Hales has told me I can rummage her wardrobe of clothes she is no longer using, so I'd like to make do.' Excellent Peter and probably not far off the mark! You also make a very valid point about Sophie still being a student and not having the resources to 'lash out' on a special outfit. Hayley has often been criticised for being too frugal and I would put money on the general family concensus being "waste not, want not" I doubt the sisters would have had second thoughts about it. Annie does have a valid point though and I hope she won't mind me suggesting that, as a relative newbie to the forum, she probably doesn't know Hayley and the family as well as some of us here. I don't doubt that Hayley would guess that one of us would spot that Sophie was wearing one of her dresses, in fact, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that she had a private bet with herself as to who might be the first to make the discovery! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif The fact is, only a relative few regulars to the forum would notice (because that's what we do!), the rest of the world probably wouldn't bat an eyelid! Best wishes Grant

ok...so it is fine that you all disagree with me but I am just telling you what me and all my friends think. You are always saying you want to widen Hayleys audience and stuff, but you all see everything so differently than we do. I am just saying that new people on the forum read things like she has her sisters dress on and then we think it is a bit lame. Because you all think you know Hayley and her family so well it makes this forum seem really "closed" . "Because I am a newbie" as Grant said, it is like I shouldn't say what I think. One of my friends used to be on this forum but she quit it and I guess I see why. Oh well, I still like her music. Sorry I said anything.

Hi annie, I'm sorry if you disagree with some of our comments, however this will happen from time to time. We were not "closed" but yes as you say a fair few members have met Hayley on a number of occasions. I was a newbie on HWI about 18 months ago and found I was made welcome but not all my comments have been agreed with. However I discovered so much about Hayley from her 2 books which details a fair bit about her background & family, I would recommend them, they are a interesting read. I would ask that don't let this one thread discourage you for replying to other threads or leaving the forum. Kind Regards Dean

Annie,
You are perfectly entitled to your opinions, and discussing such things is what this forum is for. I'm sure Grant didn't mean to suggest otherwise. Remember he also said he thought you had a valid point. We were all newbies once, and some of us are still here. That is because for the most part, this forum is one of the most pleasant and welcoming places on the internet. If you take offence just because people disagree with you, you won't find many places on the internet where you can be happy. In some places you might even suffer personal attacks and snide remarks, something that I know from experience is not tolerated here. There are people here who have met Hayley many times, and have read everything there is to read about her, so they think they know her pretty well. I have only met her half a dozen times myself, and she has yet to remember my name, but she seems to be just the way she has been described on this forum and elsewhere. Personally, if I saw Sophie performing in one of Hayley's old dresses I would not think any the worse of her. The first time I saw Katherine Jenkins perform, she wore slacks and a tee shirt on stage and I still enjoyed her performance. Actually I did once see Sophie perform nearly five years ago, but I can't remember what she was wearing. I just don't think it is that important, and most people wouldn't know anyway. At least she made an effort! An old dress of Hayley's is surely better than scruffy jeans!
Martin But as you say,in the end it is the music that counts.

Because I am a newbie" as Grant said, it is like I shouldn't say what I think. Nooooooooo Annie. That's not what I meant at all. What I was trying to say (obviously not very well ) that some of us have know Hayley and her family for quite a while and undestand them perhaps better than someone who is relatively new to the forum. As I said, your opinion is perfectly valid, and I never intended to suggest otherwise. As has been said by others, we are all friends here at the end of the day but we're bound to disagree from time to time. WE even disagree with Hayley occasionally! Best wishes Grant

Hi Annie,
While I understand what you say, I am sorry that you see us as a "closed" forum which is exactly the opposite of what we endeavour to achieve. Because of your current postcount, you are automatically listed as a new member but, for as long as you keep loggin in, you are just as much a part of the forum as anyone else and you are equally welcome.
With regard to the blue dress, if Sophie was on the international stage as much as Hayley is, I would totally agree with your views. As it is, I am sure they were just being the practical and caring family that we know them to be.
Roger

Hi...just for the record I am not "taking offence because people disagree with me". I was just voicing an opinion. And I and my friends are members of tons of performers forums. I find that this one is very different than the others though. Anyway...i like Hayleys music.

Me too! It's something I think every member here can agree on Have you seen the Live in New Zealand DVD, because it features both Hayley & Sophie singing (Across the Universe of Time) together something which hasn't been seen live since the 2004 Pure tour, I'm sure somebody else can correct me if I am wrong? it can be found on youtube, but due to it being copyrighted material, I'd beter not post the link I do hope you enjoy your time here and I hope you'll join us on one of our monthly chats and that we'll see you at a concert at some point too Dean
