Hello Libby, Martin D and Matt! To keep this thread on topic, I've moved three posts to Hayley's Fashion and added a couple of quotes. Richard

Hi everyone,
I just thought I'd mention that there has been no sign of Hayley in any of this week's Top 40 midweek charts, in spite of the Loose Women appearance, so Paradiso is likely to be outside (perhaps well outside) the top 40 on Sunday. It is probably too late now for any further daytime TV appearances (Titchmarsh next week) to arrest the slide, though obviously it will help to slow it down so it has a chance of exceeding the length of the chart run of Treasure (but not its sales).
Cheers, Dave

Paradiso down to No.2 on this week's Classic Fm Chart. World in Union No.1. OK but I'd rather have them the other way around.Only 2 weeks at the top is a travesty of justice for an album like Paradiso.

Well, Jeff, Paradiso could go back to No. 1 again, one the peak of interest in the World Cup album dies away. I would expect Paradiso to have more staying power. Here's hoping anyway. Oh and Mark played Whispers in a Dream from Paradiso and Alfie Boe's Jerusalem from The World in Union.

Yes Peter. My point is that classical albums often stay in the chart for months - some of Hayley's have done. Once the World Cup is over, The World in Union would be expected to drop out, but Paradiso could keep going for much longer.

I certainly hope you're right, Martin! I think it's just because the RWC is just really popular right now, and once it's over, they'll go back to liking Hayley's album best.

Hello Peter and Martin D and Libby and all! This week's official charts are just out and in the Classical Artist Chart, Paradiso is no. 1 for the 4th consecutive week. www.theofficialcharts.com/classical-artists-albums-chart/ In Saturday's Classic FM Chart, World In Union will still be no. 1 ahead of Paradiso but the gap has narrowed. They both slipped down the pop chart but Paradiso (now no. 49) slipped less than World in Union, I can see this in the combined pop albums chart (which includes both). Titchmarsh on Tuesday should give Paradiso a bit of a boost, or at least slow its steady decline in the pop chart, but it will give World In Union a boost too if Hayley sings that! And on Talk Sport radio (on which Hayley appeared a few days ago) Decca is currently advertising it. But it's a win-win situation really, as Hayley has four tracks on the WIU album so she benefits either way (or both ways!). Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave,
Yes its true, but I hate the fact that two of the four tracks on TWIU are so old. Yes they are Hayley, but not as she is now.
Last night, pining for a concert I couldn't get to, I played Hayley's "Live in NZ" DVD, then moved on to my own videos from Kings Lynn. The contrast is stark.
Hayley has improved and grown vastly as a performer in those 7 years. I have watched her grow with delight at every step forward. It is a travesty that Paradiso won't outsell Pure, it is a far better album in my opinion. Hayley is rightly proud of it. She does things with her voice I have never heard any other singer do. She is so good it hurts! I keep asking myself when will Hayley be properly appreciated by the public at large, rather than the few who are in the know. But then, perhaps it has always been that image, and particularly a shocking image, takes precedence over real musical excellence for most people. I am thinking most people just don't get music.

Hello Dave! You missed the other interesting fact in this week's Classical Artists Albums Chart. Hayley's 'River Of Dreams' has gone back up ten places to No.17, so she has two albums in the top twenty. 'The Armed Man - A Mass For Peace' has dropped two places to No.23, while 'The Very Best of Karl Jenkins' is down six places at No.34. www.theofficialcharts.com/classical-artists-albums-chart/Richard

Err... three albums actually Richard. You forgot The World in Union. Martin D But that's a Various Artists album and does not appear in the Classical Artists chart... because they are Various... if you see what I mean! Cheers, Dave

Hello Martin D! I was talking about the Classical Artists Albums Chart, which does not include various artists compilations like 'World In Union'. Edit: Dave just beat me to it by a few seconds, but that proves great minds think alike! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Yes Martin I agree with you that most people don't get music and I think we may have to accept the fact that a lot of the Great British public don't get Paradiso, hence it's fall down the charts. I admit some of the tracks can sound complex and be quite challenging until after repeated playings you really get into them and come to realise how superb they are. This album was a big step forward for Hayley as an artist, maybe too big for some people ?
