'The Very Best of Karl Jenkins' is a non-mover at No.9, while 'The Armed Man - A Mass For Peace' has gone up four places to No.21. www.theofficialcharts.com/classical-artists-albums-chart/Richard

It looks as though the promotion is paying off already. Hayley's 'River Of Dreams' has gone up seven places to No.25 in the Classical Artists Albums Chart dated 27th August 2011, so it should re-enter the Classic FM Chart on Saturday. 'The Very Best of Karl Jenkins' has slipped a place to No.15, while 'The Armed Man - A Mass For Peace' is up four places at No.20. Laura Wright is still at No.1 for the fourth week with 'The Last Rose'. www.theofficialcharts.com/classical-artists-albums-chart/Richard

Hi everyone,
I now have the first official Midweek chart information, which refers to albums sold on Sunday and Monday of this week (but Paradiso has only been on sale for Monday, of course).
This is not to be confused with unofficial charts such as Amazon and the supermarkets, which have their own thread!
Paradiso is currently placed at no. 13 in the official Tuesday midweeks, which is almost exactly what we have always expected Hayley to do with a major UK release at this early stage.
Pure and Odyssey were both no. 12 or 13 at this stage and both ended up in week one just inside the top 10 (8 or 9); Treasure was no. 10 and ended up at no. 9; so I think Paradiso will end up inside the top ten too, which would be very good news.
If that happens, the next test will be to see if Paradiso can keep its high position for longer than Odyssey and Treasure, both of which dropped down the chart fairly quickly after week one.
Cheers, Dave
