I now have the first official Midweek chart information, which refers to albums sold on Sunday and Monday of this week (but Paradiso has only been on sale for Monday, of course). Paradiso is currently placed at no. 13 in the official Tuesday midweeks, which is almost exactly what we have always expected Hayley to do with a major UK release at this early stage. In today's official midweeks (published by Music Week), Paradiso has jumped from no. 13 to no.10. and is now battling with Dolly Parton for the no. 9 spot! The midweek chart in full (for Wednesday) will be posted on the BBC website at about 4pm this afternoon (it currently shows last week's update): The Official UK Albums Chart UpdateSo far, so good... come ON Decca, with your ads! Cheers, Dave

Hi Simba,
Yes, it's the pop chart and includes everything. Also, see my edit, you can look at todays midweek (update) chart after about 4pm (Hayley is at no. 10 of course). The final chart comes out on Sunday at 7pm BST so we won't have the "final" answer until then, the midweeks can be a useful guide though.
Cheers, Dave

number 10 is really good considering that Hayley is competing against pop singers who get much more radio play- hopefully paradiso can go higher, but just getting into the top 10 would be an amazing result.

I'd like to see it get to 7 at least. So that it does better than Pure and shows that Hayley has shaken off the "child singer" tag.

Hayley's highest "first week" UK chart entry is of course Pure, but that was at no. 8 in its first week, so a number 7 this week would finally beat it (though it wouldn't sell as many, as the market has shrunk). There is a battle royal taking place this week, with six new releases in the top ten albums so far www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/update/albums , and Hayley is in the mix, fantastic! This will not have escaped the the attention of the promotions team at Decca... i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifDave

Interesting thought - does Joe McElderry's album qualify for the classical chart? If so, he is ahead of Hayley and might keep her off the No. 1 spot. I hope not though!

It's the Wednesday midweek chart, Ross, as I discussed above (two days sales). Paradiso is still no. 10 today in the Thursday midweek chart (three days sales) but we won't know the final chart until Sunday (Monday morning NZ time). There is still a long way to go as the busiest days for CD sales are Friday and Saturday! Dave

Hi everyone,
Sadly, Paradiso has slipped a couple of places to no. 12 in today's midweeks, the last we'll hear now until Sunday evening. So the best we can now hope for is, I think, just a top ten placing.
I have seen no reports of advertising on ITV1 this week so far, there are no TV appearances in the second half of this week, and no airplay whatsoever that I can find (not in the Radio 1 or Radio 2 playlists for this week or next). So it will be a struggle, I can't even find it in the Classic FM playlist for this week.
So the early impetus seems to have been lost for the moment anyway. Things could improve today and tomorrow of course - and perhaps Decca are keeping some powder dry for the Rugby World Cup?
Cheers, Dave

Hello folks! Hayley's 'River Of Dreams' has climbed fourteen places to No.19 in this week's Classic FM Chart. 'The Very Best of Karl Jenkins' is a non-mover at No.17, while 'The Armed Man - A Mass For Peace' has dropped two places to No.28. Laura Wright is at No.1 for the fifth week with 'The Last Rose'. www.classicfm.co.uk/on-air/programmes/official-classic-fm-chart/weeks-top-40-3-september/Mark Forrest played a track from both Karl Jenkins albums but never mentioned Hayley, thereby missing the chance to give Paradiso a plug. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Richard

Yes, nice to see ROD doing well, but it is Paradiso that we want to see up there.
