Hi Folks,
I would love to hear Hayley sing some of the Bernie Taupin songs.
No shortage of songs to choose from.
Familiar to most people as Elton John songs.

I agree- all duets should be with Sophie or Issac.
Comet- I'm not sure weather Elton John would be the right genre for Hayley, but, unless I hated the album, I'd buy it (as many versions as possible)

Roger,
I think you are missing a nuance here - ie that the singers in such duets should be "better known". I dont know if this means better known than Hayley, or better known than the singers she has been dueting with to this point, or both, but in any case I think it would stimulate sales to some degree - particularly in America - and especially if the singer is well known in a popular field, like Steve's example of Keith Urban.
There really *is* an audience in America which would find Hayley appealing - and she has still not found a way to reach them. A duet with someone who is a star in a different genre would be one way to address this. (Think Placido Domingo and John Denver as an example of how this might work).
I would be very surprised to see a another duet with Sophie anytime soon...
Jon

There is a very simple reason for duets.
It allows both artists into the others market.
It is a bit like placing an advertisement on someone else's album saying,
come and listen to my other material, here is a sample. simple Eh !

Hi folks.
Someone sang two very nice Welsh songs at a concert recently and regrettably I mislaid the programme. I was going to suggest them to Hayley as they were sung by a woman and one who had introduced herself as part of her 'stardom' as having backed for Hayley. I am continuing to try anf track them down.
As I said to Hayley at the stage door at Croydon, if she does another Eisteddfod or even elsewhere in Wales they nowadays not only expect a performer to greet them in Welsh as a matter of course but also at least one song in Welsh. Two, introduced as a coupled pair would probably bring them to their feet. I heard two/three comments of varying strengths from the audience to that effect.
There is a lovely tradiitonal song about Myfanwy, based upon a legend involving a princess in Llangollen and the Earl of Arundel amongst others. Unfortunately that is a man's song to a lost love. The key is to have a lilting song and sing it to as a solo with harp accompaniment.
While the above is in the context of a concert, I see no reason--would in fact argue it is about time--that she recorded a song in Welsh.

Hi Everyone,
Jon let's try to get someone else other than John Denver he is no longer alive :-((
Also there is one problem with the US market, Please read my post I just entered under "Membership Distribution", it is a very touchy subject with me.
I would love to hear Sophie or some other great singers on Hayleys' album, only if the song calls for it..the only example I can think of off hand is Sonny & Cher "I Got You Babe"...other than that I would like it to be Hayley solo..... But since I am at this forum a song popped in my head that I would like to hear Hayley sing........"Summertime" That would be something awesome to hear Hayley do.
Best Wishes, Howard

Hi Howard,
Methinks I wasnt clear. Mr Domingo and Mr Denver dueted with a song called Perhaps Love in 1982. John was much more generally known than Placido was, so the effect of the duet was far more profound for Domingo.
In any event, as Comet attests above, duets can really help an emerging artist. It isnt the effect on any one person, who may as Roger suggests simply download the song. It is the effect on a mass audience. In the unlikely event that Hayley were to score a duet with Josh Groban for example, it would expose possibly 3 million people to her.

Hi chungchungxavier I have to confess that I don't recognise a lot of the songs you have suggested, however, I have a CD of Joan Baez with The Lord's Prayer sung which I absolutely love, and I would love to hear Hayley sing it. Now that reminds me, I haven't played that Joan Baez CD for ages, wonder where it is?................. Best wishes Grant

Jewel is a singer who certainly has her moments - a pop singer who occasionally strays into crossover territory - she has a lovely - if rather small - "head voice". In any event, "Hands" is a modern song of faith - the idea being we are the eyes and hands of God on earth. Jon

Well, my favourite Dusty song is Goin Back - perhaps Hayley could sing it but I'm not sure I would want her to. Usually the Hayley songs I least like are those I associate with other artists, like Wuthering Heights and Both Sides Now -even if Hayley does actually sig then better than the originals.

Well, she has sung quite a few "summer" songs recently. To tell the truth, I'm not even familiar with that artist.
