I wonder how different the tracks will be??? Dori It's entirely possible the same songs on Celtic Treasure will be slightly different. The US's Pure, for example, had a brighter-sounding "Wuthering Heights" to the UK's. Maybe Decca will adjust some of the Treasure songs to make them a better fit for US ears. Maybe more cowbell in places.

I am so excited for this CD -- good thing it's the March break -- I can listen to it all day long!

Don't forget that "Celtic Treasure", the US release of Hayley's number one CD, will be on sale Tuesday March 13.
None of the store ads in my Sunday paper had Celtic Treasure pictured. Still, the CW video and CD were prominent.
Since I plan to buy three copies tomorrow...I'll want to go to several shops as I don't want to exhaust supply.

Hi Joe, Good thinking there, also if you buy multiple copies from the same store, they may not all count for the charts... Soundscan may have computer checks to prevent what they may see as attempts to hype CDs into the charts! Spread them among different stores and use different credit cards or cash, to be sure Good luck to all North American Hayley fans in your efforts to get Hayley in the Billboard 200! But most of all, don't forget to enjoy Celtic Treasure! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifCheers, Dave

Cheers, Dave Hi Dave and everyone, I have a question there : if I buy the "Celtic Treasure" from France BUT from an American online store, will it contribute to get Hayley in the Billboard 200? I mean, will it be counted as sells in France or in the US ?

Hello Stephany, It may not count anywhere! I only know the UK chart rules but if they are the same in the US, exports of CDs don't count. If you buy it as an import from a large high street or online store in France, it would probably count towards the French charts but of course it won't sell enough to get into the French charts... not at the moment, anyway. If you buy it directly from a US online store the sale is probably going to be lost in a "black hole" as far as the charts are concerned. There isn't much you can do about it unless you can persuade someone you know in the US to buy it there for you and post it to you! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifHowever, sales like this will be included in sales figures issued by Decca (which is partly why they are always higher than charts sales) so you can be sure that Hayley herself will receive the benefit of that sale! Cheers, Dave

Hello everybody! This is really too short to count as a review, but it's worth reporting. From the New York Post:- March 13, 2007 Hayley Westenra
"Celtic Treasure" On her just-in-time for Saint Patrick's Day record, this pure-voiced New Zealand soprano delivers a breathtaking collection that wears enough green to be sufficiently traditional and dynamic to transcend the holiday. She sings a terrific "Danny Boy," but she wins your heart with her cover of "Shenandoah," one of this week's featured MPFrees at nypost.com. (Out today)
Richard

Hello all,
(Take notice: this is not my official review. That will come later)
I just bought my copy of "Celtic Treasure." As I expected, the US-only tracks are previously available versions, not new recordings. "Last Rose of Summer" is the version found on "Celtic Woman: A New Journey". However, "Scarborough Fair" is not the Celtic Woman version, I think it is the one from the UK Special Edition. Same with "The Water Is Wide". The US-only tracks were clearly added with the US market in mind.
The new tracks (at first listen) range from fair to excellent. I will eventually review the whole thing, but not right now.
I had listened to samples of the UK version previously, and really liked the UK-only samples I heard. Those of you who obtained the UK edition of "Treasure" have an excellent CD.

I will be heading to my local Walmart at lunch today to purchase my copy of Celtic Treasure, and to survey the display rack and general marketing approach at America's largest retailer. I will report back later.

Socalboy, I've heard that Walmart may be selling bonus track versions of CT which will include "Mummers Dance." Please let us know if you find any! Oksy
