Hi all I've had an interesting Email from Amazon.co.uk this morning, advising me that my order for "Celtic Treasures" cannot be fulfilled, and offering me a link to the UK release. "Celtic Treasure" is no longer listed!! on the UK site so I've re-ordered from Amazon.com. Anyone know what the heck is going on? Grant

Sorry Oksy, I don't know the answer to your question. Sorry Grant, ditto. Don't know much, do I? Roger

Hi, Okay Grant, you win by a micro-second! Mmm, 9th April for me too. What are they shipping it on, a rowing boat? By the time it gets here I will have forgotten I'd ordered it - again! Roger

I see that most of you have ordered the US edition as well. What is the difference, except maybe the packaging? I'm just asking myself if I should purchase it or not. As for now, I'm extremely happy with my UK edition.

Hi Stephany, The US version includes 'Scarborough Fair' and 'The Last Rose of Summer' but does not include four songs that appear on the UK version. It is very possible that other versions around the world will be different again. Roger

Thanks for the answer, Roger. It's unfortunate to have so many different versions. I guess we have to curse the marketing for that. I won't buy the US version then, because I already have Scaborough Fair and The Last rose of Summer on my Celtic Woman album.

It is very possible that other versions around the world will be different again. Roger Roger: As this is a recurring theme with Hayley's albums, I'm curious: Is the notion of releasing multiple international versions of an album a common practice with UK-based artists? It's probably done here as well, but I'm just not familiar with it.

Hi Stephany,
So have I, but I am assuming these are studio recordings and, probably, slightly different arrangements. You may be wise not to buy it just for that though.

I stand firm on the fact that releasing international albums is extremely confusing for everyone. For someone who isn't really aware of it and goes to a store to buy a CD for a specific artist, it can be fustrating to learn afterwards that a song has been removed or added depending on the edition he bought.
I don't know if what I just said makes sense, but I just wanted to highlight the fact that releasing different albums may not be a good idea to break international markets. Why not standardize the album - as it is much more easier for everyone?

Hi Stephany, I agree it can be confusing and frustrating for the buyer. Very briefly, there are reasons for the variations. It is based on the record labels assessment of what may or may not be popular in any given area, in conjunction with varying chart rules around the world. Sadly, that means that loyal fans like us have to decide between duplicating many tracks simply to obtain one or two extra ones (and therefore increasing our expense), or missing the opportunity to hear those additional tracks. This come from ReleaseGuide.com. Interesting that they mention 'E Pari Ra' in their write-up yet, by their own admission, it is not included in the tracklisting! Roger
