Which song from Hayley's first few albums would you most like Hayley to re-record?

Hi Jon
Without any shadow of a doubt "I Dreamed A Dream" from Hayley's first album 'Hayley Westenra'.
Edit: Ah! but that's not in your poll, sorry!
Best wishes Grant

Hi Folks It's election day here in Ireland, Time for a new government, So I voted for "Time to say goodbye" [ I do love this song though] { } Would this be a duet Jon ? Imagine with a really rough voice like Tom Waits opposite Hayley whom I think also sang Over the rainbow. Is there even a chance I'd stay on topic ? I suspect it's ADHD comet

Best wishes Grant Hi Grant, I did this poll on the official forum and was in two minds about changing some of the songs, but I didn't. I'm not sure if you can edit the poll?

For a re-recording, It would have to be Sir Cliff for me, Comet. He duetted with Sarah Brightman on the song. But Tom Waits would be good. EDIT: Oops, I'm getting my 'Time To Say Goodbyes' mixed up with my 'All I Ask Of Yous' :je It was Andrea Bocelli who did the duet with Sarah.

I think Hayley sung her recording of it as a solo, without checking I'd guess on one of her first three NZ albums. The duet you may be thinking of she sung with Andrea Bocelli live at "Gotta Skate" in Canada a couple of years or three ago. There is a big thread about it somewhere in the forum (the Search facility will find it). The Vivo Per Lei duet with andrea Bocelli (from the same show) is my personal favourite, one I'd like Hayley to record - but this would be for the first time and it's not in the Poll . I think I'd vote "none of them" if there was such an option, mainly because time and Hayley have moved on since those days and... she's already done them. But I voted " Somewhere Over The Rainbow" as I'd love to hear Hayley sing it since her voice has matured and her singing has developed - preferably the Eva Cassidy arrangement (or similar) as it's fresher than Judy Garland's original arrangement, I think. Cheers, Dave

Hello Comet! Hayley has re-recorded 'Time To Say Goodbye' as a solo, on the Japanese album 'The Best of Hayley Westenra'. There is a thread about the album HERE, and you can listen to a clip of the song HERE (track 14). Best Wishes, Richard

Would it come as a surprise if after listening to that clip that I think its the best version of that song I have heard! Now I'm going to be tossing and turning because I can't get old of it.

Cheers, Dave Hi Dave, I believe if Hayley did re-record it, it would be the original and not Eva Cassidy's version. A lot of artists sing it that way for some reason. Leona Lewis recently sung it with her own spin on it and I believe Hayley would either do that or just sing as was originally intended, much like the CW version.

Thanks Richard. That's interesting, I have NEVER seen that album listed on E bay. I have a Japanese CD Crystal on order BUT it has been in the post some time now and maybe there are some new versions on it. I do believe they remix especially for the Japanese ear and Hayley's music appeals to them greatly.

I voted for "Memory" because it has a lot of personal meaning for me. It's a beautiful song. I voted for this one as well. Hayley's voice is much fuller now and she could certainly give Elaine Page a run for her money with a new recording of one of AWL's greatest compositions. Martin

There are three Hayley songs I would like to hear again now - none of which are on this poll.
