You are not thinking of "How Deep is Your Love" by any chance are you. That really was a long time ago!

So I was listening to Celine Dion's version of "Immortality" again and I swear I keep substituting Hayley's voice! I seriously would love to hear her sing this!

Will have to check that one out. Adobe Flash is out on this computer, plus I don't want to make too much noise in here. LOL

As for covers I'd love to hear Hayley do on her new album Or on the next one, since I wouldn't be surprised if the tracklist is already set by this point (Incidentally, do we have a general thread for suggestions of things we'd like Hayley to sing? In case she decides to take requests in the future, she has any easy place to find some from her fans?) here are some of mine: A high quality recording of her "Vivo per Lei" duet with Andrea Boccelli. I love hearing them sing that together, and would be thrilled to have a great recording of it. A collaboration (or an entire album of them ) with "The Piano Guys". Whatever they do, it would almost certainly be fantastic. One is curious of the results of combining this with the first suggestion though... Or any of the following. A rendition of "Melodies of Life" from Final Fantasy IX would be fabulous: "Carrying You" from Laputa - Castle in the Sky could also be lovely, though it could probably use some polish with the English translation: A cover of " Pain" or " Kokoro" from Xenosaga could be interesting, too, though, Joanne Hogg did such a good job on the original, improving on it would likely be difficult, even for Hayley. Maybe just have Hayley collaborate with Yasunori Mitsuda on a new game soundtrack. It could also be interesting to have a collaboration of Hayley with some of the more recently "discovered" young girls who unusually mature and amazing voices: Jackie Evancho, Amira Willighagen, and Lexi Walker, in particular (Yes, if you haven't caught on, while I enjoy hearing exceptional singers and musicians doing things on their own, getting multiple of them together I find amplifies the enjoyment.). Some of The Seekers' and/or Peter, Paul and Mary's songs could be lovely as well. Collaboration with Allison Krauss? Hmm.... A couple of songs she's already done, that I would like to see redone (Though, yes, they are very popular songs to cover already.): "Morning Has Broken" ~ This one, the main thing I'd like to hear is using the correct word in the third verse. Though they are spelled the same, "Rec-re-a-tion" and "Re-cre-a-tion" have quite different meanings. It rankles me a bit how often that mistake is made by singers. Having a more original arrangement, particularly a capella, on that one would be nice, too. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" ~ While her rendition of this on Hushabye is quite lovely, and is one of my favorites, I still wish it was done in the original key signature (Not as lullaby-ish, I concede.). I have yet to figure out why so many singers drop the pitch on it. Well, I can understand it with the male singers (Still better when they don't though.), but when all these sopranos drop it, often times as much or more than the men? I know Hayley can hit the high notes, and that is, at least to me, part of the charm and beauty of the original. (I will admit, I, at least, like the challenge it presents, too. )
New songs by Hayley would, of course, be eagerly received. Anthony

Hi Anthony, Hayley fans have been requesting Vivo Per Lei for years, ever since their performance the first time. And I think that's getting close 10 years ago now! I agree with you about BOTW. It's beautiful, but especially after hearing it live, the recording just sounds a little "safe", with not quite as much gusto as her recent live renditions. Also, when comparing her recordings to live, sometimes she sounds more thin and a tiny bit nasal than when she's live. Hayley's alread done Morning Has Broken; check out her early album, My Gift to You. Alison Krauss is an interesting idea! Piano Guys sure, they seem pretty popular... But NO, Please NO more albums with someone else as the main theme, and not Hayley! Enough already! It's just Hayley we want, we've been wanting, and I think Hayley's been wanting, for years now! Hayley seemed just as eager to get an album out as her fans in Madison were when they asked about. But everything takes time, so she's trying. And, video game songs? Not so sure. Leave that to youtube artists like Lindsey Stirling and Peter Hollens. The music videos are great, but they're not really what you want from an artist like Hayley, if the goal is for her to succeed. Not that nobody would like it, it's just something too specialized, that only a certain group of people (video game fans) would recognize or understand.

Hello Libby, I know of Hayley's rendition of "Morning Has Broken" on My Gift to You. She made the pronunciation mistake (a.k.a. used the wrong word.) in it, that many other people have done. Hence why I wouldn't mind a new version. I'm not particularly wanting music videos of the video game track(s). Just music. The Xenosaga ones are certainly a bit different lyrically than what Hayley usually does, so I'm not really sure about those, beautiful though they are. "Carrying You", however, is not a video game track, but a Studio Ghibli one, and Hayley has already done one of those ("Itsumo Nando Demo") on HSJS2. Which is part of the reason I thought of it in the first place. True. An entire album with the Piano Guys would probably be a bit much, and not really ideal either. A single track would still be spiffy, though.
Thanks, Paige.

Thanks, Paige. There could be lots of songs she could improve upon now, but she can't do re-dos of every song that she could make an improvement on. Especially over one word. Bridge Over Troubled Water might be an exception, though, as far as the arrangement, as I think we both suggested above. But she'd only do that if she planned on putting it on a main release album, but I'm afraid that's too much to expect. But, how could it be fair for only the Japanese to get that song, when the song is popular world-wide. Of course I know the reason it was recorded on the Japanese lullaby album, but since she's been singing it a lot in concert, I'm sure it's making most of her fans wish to have a recording of it... one that they don't have to buy from another country. It's not convenient for everyone to buy multiple releases of albums just to get 1 or 2 extra songs. I was not suggesting Hayley make a music video of a video game song. I was saying that there are popular youtube artists, such as Peter Hollens and Lindsey Stirling, who are good at that sort of thing, because they're more independent artists who pretty much do whatever they like, even if they have their own albums (and they do). Hayley has a record company whom I doubt would go for video game music. The other song you mention, if it is more on the lines of her HSJS songs, then they could be on those albums, but probably not an international album. Decca usually seems to want their artists to do as many tried and true songs as they can get away with, though with Hayley (unless she switches labels), they might be finally allowing her some freedom, since it has appeared for months now that she is doing lots of writing/co-writing. So, it's entirely likely we'll see more writing by Hayley than on past albums. Or at least, no fewer than on previous albums. 4 is the most she's done on 1 album (international release).

I think Hayley would sound wonderful singing "It is You, It is You" by Natalie Prass. The album version has a beautiful classical arrangement. It's also featured on a popular commercial for vacation homes or something (the content of the ad has little to do with the product)

I guess that it would be great if Hayley sing “Between Two Worlds" from Disney's Pocahontas 2. The song is featured during credits of the film and it's originally performed by Judy Khun and Billy Zane. The high notes completely fit Hayley's voice.
And it'll be great if Hayley sing a version of “Don't Go Breaking My Heart”. Also “Karicfergus" and “Siúil A Rún" are great. Hayley is perfect in singing Irish songs.

I love those songs that Orla does! I started hoping for more Irish songs by Hayley a long time ago, and I used to say she should record a Gaelic song, since she never has. But it's now been 8 years since her Celtic Woman tour! You never know if that type of song fits on her next album or not. If not, maybe the next one! We'll just have to see.
