Talking of Carole's songs, and the possibility of Hayley recording some of them, the thought of Hayley singing "You've Got a Friend" gives me goose bumps.

I have a theory and it goes like this: Since Hayley has never once used a song suggestion from us, it is futile to recommend any further. If you really want her to sing a specific song, DON'T list it here and she might just do it.

Keep the suggestions coming! What was it Joan Baez sang about? Oh yes! "We shall Overcome!" Best wishes Grant

I just find it strange that after four years of song suggestions -- not just the ones in this thread -- nary a tune of our hopes has turned up in her repertoire. I'm thinking perhaps her team want to find her the material on their own, since that's something they get paid to do, and how would it look if they took the easy way out by tapping our choices?

I think she prefers to write her own material. When asked recently about singing a certain song, she said :"It costs money." By writing songs of her own she avoids having to pay royalties to the songwriter, unless of course they're already dead, in which case she may do more classical material !

Hayley has recorded songs that were suggested on here. I don't know if she got the idea from us, though. here are some songs I would love her to do sometime.... Lascia Ch'io Pianga... Danny Boy... I would love to hear her do Lascia Ch'io Pianga,...Scarborough Fair and The Water is Wide... Hmmm, just to keep this list going:...Shenendoah... I'd like to hear a completely original song of Hayley's, just to see what she wants to sing about, as opposed to her doing covers of other songs. ... The last rose of summer... I especially love The Last Rose of Summer. Hayley's voice would be just perfect for this. To put the dates in perspective, Odyssey was released on August 8, 2005 (So, I'm sure that the songs on Odyssey were already selected before this thread started). Treasure was released on February 26, 2007. Who knows. Maybe Shenandoah and Danny Boy made it to that list?

Coincidence probably, Sonata. After all, Hayley hasn't posted on this site for nearly 18 months now so what are the chances that she actually reads anything ? She says she's too busy but I don't really buy that. After all, it only takes a minute to say "Hi guys ! See you in concert in XYZ next week and the week after I'll be in the studio to record ABC !"

Hi Jeff, Actually, she does look at the forum when time permits. I have often mentioned topics that are being discussed and she is fully aware of them. Roger

Hey Sonata, did you forget this: I'd like her to do some Japanese songs like "Hanamizuki", "Yuki No Hana" and "Shiroi Iro Ha Koibito No Iro". ...

Most Christmas albums are recorded in the early summer for release in the fall. That means that if Hayley were to do more holiday music, now would be the time to get our suggestions in. So here are my five eclectic choices:
1. Frosty the Snowman 2. Coventry Carol 3. And So This Is Christmas (War Is Over) 4. I Saw Three Ships 5. Hark the Herald Angels Sing

A Christmas song I'd love to hear is "Oh Christmas Tree" or "Oh Tannenbaum"

Colors of the Wind, Memories (from ALW's Cats), Hallelujah How Many Stars (with Teddy again would be great) There I'll be, Requiem for a Soldier Sweet Home Alabama (as I hear her sing it on a NZ TV Interview and loved it)
I'd be interested so hear Hayley do (I'm not sure this would suit hayley but I still love this song): Unchained Melody,
I think these would be awesome
