Hi All, I love hearing details of how and when people first discovered Hayley and reflecting on some of these stories! I seem to remember Roger (Mansbridge) telling us that he was painting his kitchen bright yellow at the time when he first heard Hayley's voice on the radio!!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Maybe Roger will spare some time to tell us his story all over again? Well here's mine... (for those who haven't heard it yet!) One Saturday morning in late 2003 I was enjoying a lovely soak in the bath. I lived alone at the time in my one bedroom villa (my first property - purchased in 1998 and later sold in 2005). The bathroom door was propped open and my hifi was tuned into the 'Classic FM' chartshow downstairs at the foot of my open tread spiral staircase... As I lay back in the bath the vast volume of soap suds formed a glacier-like landscape on the surface of the water... I was enjoying the sensation of the warm water over my shoulders and at the back of my neck. As my ears rose above the bath foam, Hayley's voice filled my ears for the first time with 'Hine e Hine'... WOW... I couldn't believe how beautiful her voice sounded - quite celestial! I'll never forget that moment for as long as I live! I was hooked!!! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifAndrew

Hello Alan and everyone Interestingly, the editor of our Parish magazine approached me in church this morning to ask if I would like to write an article about the effect Hayley has had on my life. Ha!! Is water wet? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifWhat I didn't tell him was that I have been working on an article along those lines for about a year - guess I better work on finishing it now Of course I'll share it here when it is finished Best wishes Grant

Hi Grant,
Well I am the editor of our church magazine, and at one time I wrote a regular monthly editorial, but I haven't done so lately since we managed to persuade our minister to do a regular slot. But I did manage to mention Hayley sometimes.
I think that would be a difficult article to write. Her music certainly affects me profoundly, and has made me a better person I am sure, and is still having a positive effect on my life. I suppose more than anything, I see her music, and my capacity to enjoy it, as a gift from God, the living proof that He loves us. But how to put that in a way that people who haven't experienced it can understand would be difficult I think.
I look forward to reading your article when you have completed it.
Martin

I suppose more than anything, I see her music, and my capacity to enjoy it, as a gift from God, Hi Martin It certainly is. I've already written most of my article - it was the ending I was having problems with. My approach will be subtle - just to explain how things have happened: what I've done about it and how it's affected me. The rest they can work out for themselves or, better still, talk to me about it! Best wishes Grant

Hmmm... I honestly don't remember. It's been a few years now, but I really can't be sure quite how many... At least two or three, though. I know I came quite late to 'The Hayley Phenomenon'. Definitely before the release of Treasure, though

In the Fall of 2008. I have missed so much. I was listening to Pandora on my iPod late one night - more asleep than awake. I was fully awakened with chills caused by the most beautiful voice I have ever heard singing 'Dark Waltz'. I have been scrambling ever since to learn as much as I can about this truly remarkable person.
