Oh wow!
Well, okay if that's what she wanted well done to those who must have made two contributions to ensure some money did go to UNICEF. BUT, had it not been for a delayed response from Gerald and Jill, it would have been proper to over-ride her to some extent. Sometimes, people like Hayley need to be told, kid, you deserve this and we're going to make sure you get what you deserve. It looks to me like a well chosen gift.

Hi everyone.
While 'official' (which usually means Jill's) photos are always superb, catching Hayley casually adds that little more. It brings back the expressions I've seen live, close up and that is what makes the 'unofficial' pictures so exciting.
They really bring home the memories of being close to her and inclluded in the laughter and smiles that abound around her.

Hello Peter! I knew I wanted to say something to you, and this is the right place to say it. Could you post a larger version of the picture in your avatar, please? It isn't the pantomime season, so I promise I won't make any comments about Beauty and the Beast! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifRichard

Dear Richard. You of all people should know that there is a restriction on avatar size of 100x90(?) pixels, I don't think its 100 squared. That is why it is the size it is! Okay, I probably would not have made it 200 x 200 had that option been open. And, okay, just because I can use 100 x 90 doesn't mean I have to! However, you give me the excuse to use the quotation option, which I have, so thank you for both the excuse to push myself further and for your past technical assistance! You also give me the excuse to add . Now I've learned something new again. I know whay that image is there, clearly put in specially for people replying to Richard My, you have to keep tabs here, things happen so quickly, don't they it is hard to keep track! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifPeter

Hello Peter! You have slightly misunderstood my question. I wasn't asking you to make the picture bigger in your avatar, where I believe the maximum size is 100 pixels square. What I meant was, could you post a larger version of your avatar picture in this thread, where you can have a width of 720 pixels before it starts pushing the left hand margin. Have I explained myself better this time? i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifBest Wishes from London, Richard

Dear Richard.
Not slightly, but wholly have I misunderstood you! I appreciate fans but I assure you the picture is only as large as it is to make Hayley look right and to get in the depth necessary against my height without cutting my head off, which I am sure many would think would improve the picture no end! I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, photogenic and that, through no fault of the photographer (Simon?) is one of the worst pictures of me ever! I was, to say the least, singularly dishevelled.
If you tell me the reason for your interest I might, just might, be persuaded on condition I can put with it a solo picture of me (here really comes the ego trip) which is a painting by my friend in Boston.
He has a colourful background but he painted it on one of my trips out when I was compiling my first volume of verse and I did think of having it on the cover of my book. Apart from the fact they couldn't afford four-colour reproduction, I decided to follow Graham Greene's lead and not be identified with my book for the same reasons as he hated being photographed. He liked anonymity. It enabled him to observe without anyone noticing him from which of course he derived so much detail in his characters.
While the book just about recovered its production costs (very unusual with a first volume of poetry), it never went into a reprint and no one seemed interested in asking me to prepare a second volume, so I didn't.
It is of course the picture of a much younger man and has a certain (now here comes the real arrogance for you) raffish charm that has always pleased me. You really shouldn't dust my feathers so flatteringly, Richard. I really don't need much encouragement once I get going!
Peter

Hello again Peter! The real reason I want to see a larger version of your picture is because it looks like an exceptionally good photograph of Hayley. You may put up a solo portrait of yourself provided it is included in the same post. If you put it in a separate post I shall call it off-topic! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifTo be fair, you can see a larger version of the picture in my avatar here. Richard

Hi All, This picture reminds me of the 'Pure' Tour just over 2 years ago, when Katherine was supporting Hayley on Tour... I Can't wait to see Hayley performing this Friday in Glasgow. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifI suspect this photo may have been taken at the Classical Brit Awards. Regards, Andrew

Hi All, Has anybody seen this particular "Odyssey New Edition" photo of Hayley before? What a classic... : Regards, Andrew Thanks, Andrew! That is a great photo but it's also a peculiar pose. Like, why is she down on the hard floor without benefit of any pillows or cushions? To me that means no comfort and so I naturally project that she was anxious to get the shot over with.

Hello again everybody! I've already posted this elsewhere on the Forum, but it seems appropriate to post it again here. My favourite picture from the new 'Odyssey' gallery is this one. Hayley's expression and pose are more natural on this photograph than some of the others. Best Wishes, Richard
