Hi Natasha! Another great poll! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif Yeah, I would LOVE for PBS (or anything else in the US) to do Phantom for television. I often thought Hayley would be perfect in the role of Christine. She'd beat Sarah Brightman and Emmy Rossum hands down! Certainly Michael Crawford was perfect in his role as the Phantom, Gerald Butler was good also. Hmm...Teddy Tahu Rhodes springs to my mind. TTR and Hayley got on so well singing "How Many Stars". He's the right age sort-of-thing and he's got that big belt-out voice like Crawford. Wow...have to think about the role of Raoul. Bryn Terfel would be a good Raoul. Hey, it's "stranger than you dreamt it", Natasha! Hope you like my choices!

Hello Poll Queen Natasha! I voted "Yes", because this would give Hayley more good publicity. Hayley has been brilliant in everything she's done so far, so it's about time she had a chance to show off her acting skills to the world! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gifThank you for another interesting poll! Best Wishes to you and Crystal, Richard

I, too, have voted yes. But, I had to think for a while first.
My yes would be qualified by the fact that it is on condition it was made available, on DVD, internationally. Just like Hayley Westenra: Live From New Zealand.
However, there have been others made by PBS, which came out on DVD, and were never made available to the UK. One I am thinking of in particular is the Charlotte Church Enchantment DVD, which was recorded at St Davids Hall, Cardiff. We were promised it would appear on UK TV - it never did. We were promised that the DVD would be released here - it never was.

Teddy would be an excellent Phantom choice and he has the correct voice type. I still think Russell would be very good also and his voice has that little edge sort of like Gerald Butler's.
Bryan Terfel would probably do the best vocal Raoul ever but personally I can't see PBS casting him as he's well, let's just say physically not right for Raoul, you know what I mean right? It sad though, most Raoul's have just OK voices because they have to look good. We need someone with both looks and a amazing voice that would do justice to Hayley's.
Good choices though! I agree with Keith that if this should happen it should be made into a DVD released internationally.
Let's everyone nominate their candidates for the Phantom and Raoul and after we get the most popular ones, we'll have a poll to see who Hayley's costars would be!
Hugs, Natasha

May I make a suggestion for a "better than just OK" voice who would do a great job as Raoul, because he is "someone with both looks and an amazing voice," as you so aptly put it -- Josh Groban! How about Josh Groban? He's not bad to look at, either! His voice would do justice to Hayley's.

What about Mario Frangoulis for this part. Alright, he's Greek but, boy, does he have a great tenor voice.

Yes, Josh would be great!! He'd have to change his hair though, lol.
Keith, I've never heard Mario Frangoulis, but I think I've heard of him. Didn't he sing with Hayley on her tour or something?

Hi Natasha, That's right, he toured the UK with Hayley in November last year. And he is fantastic, and a very nice man indeed. It's great to see that they will be getting together again at the Hellenic Festival in Greece this coming October. To learn more about Mario, visit his official site at: www.mariofrangoulis.com/There are also quite a few song clips for you to listen to. Keith.

Hi Natasha, I have just tried Mario's clips and they wouldn't play for me either. Do try again sometime because I think you'll be impressed. Meanwhile, this is him with me in Edinburgh during Hayley's tour last November. He's the one on the left! lol Roger

Hi Natasha, I have just tried Mario's clips and they wouldn't play for me either. Roger I tried the clips and all played except the first and last ones. Just skip forwards to the next track and hopefully it will work. [rant mode] It's done in Macromedia Flash and is one of the worst examples of pathetic web page design out there. They must be trying to break the World Record for tiny player buttons, unreadable song names and multi-way scrolling text. Grrr!!! [/rant over] i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif

Sure I met him Natasha. Nearly every night of the tour. Not only is he a superb singer but has a great sense of humour, is very friendly and is a true gentleman.
Huh, I was standing around in the foyer at about the fourth concert of the tour when he entered, spotted me, and ran towards me with his hand held out to shake mine. And the last we saw of him was after the UNICEF concert. Keith and I were standing on the steps of Canada House in London when Mario came out. He stood in the middle of the road with his stage costume over one arm as he hailed a taxi with the other. lol

Go to Mario's site, click on "Music" and there are lots of clips there.
None of the wma files will work - I'll drop them a line about that later. But, all the ra files work. To hear them, you need to have Real Player installed. It's free to download from the web.
Keith.
