Wow! What a beautiful song!! (I don't understand a word of it, but I'm sure I would be ballin' like a baby right now if I did)...wouldn't take much at this moment after listening to that.
Thanks, Stephany. Your eyes are everywhere. I also read your posts above where you had purchased the "Wiegenlied" CD from Amazon.co.uk. Is this song (the one on the Japanese website that you linked to in your above post) on that CD? If so, what are the others listed?
EDIT: It is probably a single like the thread suggests, though I'm just now seeing that.
(I feel my Hayley-itis is flaring up again).
Thanks, Eric (now I really must leave and do some work!!)
The one you heard is the German version. There are three songs on the CD : slow and fast German versions + the Japanese version (which is absolutely lovely!). Worth-buying in my opinion. Best wishes, Stephany
Hi Folks As nobody else has mentioned it, The only person given credit for vocals is Hayley, which means Hayley also sings the lovely spooky backing vocals AS WELL. This is not easy to do at a live concert but if anyone can Hayley will... I love this single and it is also different to the version on Odyssey. So thats at least 4 versions ! comet

I forget to pray for the Angels
and then the Angels forget to pray for us. " ......Leonard Cohen
Hi Eric, Stephany & Comet. To this day I have not found out what the song in Japanese says( go Stephany !!) but the German is as follows with a reasonable translation in English
Wiegenlied =cradle song Language: GERMAN

ENG English (Emily Ezust) Lullaby Language: ENGLISH
Sleep, my little prince, fall asleep: the lambs and birdies are resting, the garden and meadow are silent, and even the little bee hums no more. Luna with a silver gleam is pouring her light into the window. Sleep by the silvery light, sleep, my little prince, fall asleep!
Everyone in the castle is already lying down: everyone is cradled in slumber, and even the little mouse rustles no more. The cellar and kitchen are empty, only in the chambermaid's quarters one can hear a languishing sigh! What kind of sigh might this be? Sleep, my little prince, fall asleep!
Who is happier than you? Nothing but amusement and rest! Toys and sugar enough, and even a stately coach to convey you; everyone is careful and ready so that my little prince will not shriek. But what will the future bring? Sleep, my little prince, fall asleep.
My source was a lyrics web site but I've lost which one exactly. Quite a bit of data is available. Enjoy ....Graemek PS We've had this for a while....Its another unique Hayley...gorgeous. Stephany, Thanks so much for the clip segment....I've downloaded it as .wmv . Also gerrits video clip of Hayley performing the song on this thread too. I'd missed it. Thanks Gerrit for that. Beautiful. As this song was part of a Japanese TV wartime drama it would not surprise me if the lyrics were nothing to do with lullabies.
The loveliest, sweetest flower that bloomed in paradise, and the first that died, has rarely blossomed since on mortal soil. It is so frail, so delicate, a thing, it is gone if it but look upon itself; and she who ventures to esteem it hers proves by that single thought she has it not. Humility - Fry
Thank you for finding and posting the lyrics. It does make it more enjoyable, when listening, and I never would have guessed in a million years what they were. Unfortunately, I only speak English, and that I have trouble with at times. (I'm afraid I can't help with the Japanese lyrics, either). I wonder how successful the movie was anyway. Did she get any recognition from it?
Yay!! I got this for my birthday! (finally! i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif) I really love it. I just love Hayley's gorgeous vocals and excellent enunciation of the languages. I especially like the beautiful background vocals. My favourite version is the fast version, but they are all very lovely. The Japanese version actually didn't sound as weird as I thought it would. Wow, Hayley's recorded four versions of the same song! That's pretty cool. i.postimg.cc/9fYxy370/smilie-big-grin.gif
