Hi guys, I've just received the latest Universal Classics & Jazz newsletter (March Issue) and not surprisingly, the top story is Music of the Spheres. They have included a link to a new video, a short 90 second promo and as you can see, On My Heart with Hayley takes up nearly half of the entire promo video! Here is the streaming videoCheers, Dave Hi Dave I posted this video back on 22nd Feb, post #88. Still, two are better than none! Best wishes Martin

Hi Martin, oops, well "nearly new" so yes, well done. What I meant to highlight was that Hayley's contribution is heavily featured in the video linked to in the latest UCJ monthly newsletter - this gives me some hope that she will be included in their TV ads too (whereas for Jonathan Ansell's recent album she was not) Cheers, Dave

How is that possible?? Or have I missed something. Graeme

Hi
Just to say The Music of the Spheres is up on iTunes UK now as the studio and live albums together at a cost of £11.95. You can buy the songs individually, so it is possible to buy the studio CD cheaper in the stores and just get the live versions of On My Heart and On My Heart (Reprise).
Best regards
Colin

I've downloaded the live versions and have just listened to them. The live version of On My Heart is giving my goosebumps goosebumps - it is impossibly beautiful.
Best regards

Won't you have worn out that value of shoe leather or stick on rubber sole? By the by, on ITV1 at around 6:15pm today Mike Oldfield was on London Regional News. Hayley was heard in the extracts played and was at least mentioned as a contributor with Lang Lang but no pictures. Peter S.

Well, my copy came this morning from Amazon.
Walking around Rugby town centre at lunch time copies of the album could not be had, because everywhere was SOLD OUT!!! WH Smith even listed it at No 1 in their album (pop) chart! Wow!
Getting home and opening my CD, I found an advert for Hayley and Treasure on the inside of the CD sleeve. This will, as I suspected, do our Hayley no harm at all. Expect a rush of new members.
I haven't got round to playing the CD yet though!!

I've buyed my copy today for 15 euro and 99 cents.
Mine was the last copy in the store..I feel a bit lucky. After a first listening, I'm caught in. The entire album and its atmosphere are truly magical. Can't wait to read what you think about it. ^^

Hi All, I bought my copy today in Sainsburys for £8.97. Gordon Thanks Gordon, I went to Sainsburys to save 80p compared to Asda (eat your heart out Richard! ) I must say having heard the entire album a few times now on big speakers that anyone who has even the faintest liking for Mike Oldfield's music should rush out and get this album, I'd have bought it even if Hayley wasn't on it so her two contributions are a real bonus for me! It also seems to be technically very well produced and mastered, to the high standards of true classical music not pop music... and especially: - it has full dynamic range and I mean full. I have just measured it digitally and the loudest parts just touch 0.0 dB (maximum digital volume) but for only a few short passages (half a minute in total) mainly in the finale and I could neither see nor hear any digital clipping. - But at the end of Hayley's contribution "On My Heart", where the final notes fade out, the volume falls to -59.7dB (basically 60 decibels quieter than full volume) in the second before the next track starts (Part 2) and you can still hear the music!. Turn up your volume full and see, it's astonishing, very unusual on albums these days - and I love it! In the middle of tracks, I measured -35dB (peak not average) at times, still very good. Audio compression should be banned and there ain't much of it on this album! Cheers, Dave Edit - nearly forgot to mention, I was driving home this evening at 7:55pm when Classic FM played "On My Heart!" YAY!

[- it has full dynamic range and I mean full. Audio compression should be banned and there ain't much of it on this album! Thanks Dave, I think you've tempted me to go and buy this album now! I have to agree that compression really kills music, and that's coming from someone who is a heavy rock fan as well. If everything is the same volume, there's nowhere to go and on live performances compression is just used to mask inadequate instrumental or vocal technique. James

To anyone who loves the album I recommend to download the live version of the Bilbao concert from Itunes. It's fantastic and I really hope to see the show in tour, with Hayley obviously ^^
