This song sounds absolutely gorgeous; it reminds me of Listen to the Wind. I love it, and I can't wait to hear the whole thing.

Just noticed that Music of the Spheres is currently the no. 2 prerelease album at Amazon UK - and no. 58 overall.
So things are starting to look quite good for the UK release because there are still...
Two weeks to go!
Dave
PS: I have moved this thread into the "Other Albums" sub-board to be consistent with the placement of similar recent albums on which Hayley is featured, such as the Jonathan Ansell and Mario Frangoulis albums.

I think this is going to be a big one! There are some pretty good reviews on Amazon's website, some saying that it is the best thing from Mike Oldfield since the days of Tubular Bells and Ommadawn. There are so many albums on which Hayley is featured it is hard to keep up. If, as I suspect MOTS enters the Classic FM chart at No 1, and Johnathan Ansell stays there, Hayley could feature on both of the top two albums for the first time ever I think (I'm sure Dave will correct me if I'm wrong).

Hi Martin, Sorry but Hayley does do this from time to time (though it would be the first time for a year or two). A few random examples from the charts that I have: Classic FM Chart 10 Jan 2004 (& for several weeks previously): 1. Pure 2. No. 1 Classical Album 2004 (Hayley - Pokarekare Ana) Classic FM Chart 25 Dec 20041. Classical Album 2005 2. Christmas Album - Aled Jones (Hayley - Silent Night duet) 5. Pure. Classical Artist Chart - 25 Jun 20061. Odyssey (SE) 2. Choirboys - Choirboys (Hayley - Do You Hear What I Hear quartet) 16. Odyssey 19.Pure I'm sure there are more but it would be nice to have another Cheers, Dave

Thanks Dave. The fount of all knowledge as always!
I suspect that a complete discography of Hayley doesn't exist anywhere! Trying to collect all the Albums Hayley has appeared on is a daunting prospect, but perhaps the number of guest appearances she has made is an indication of how in demand she is. And it may help to introduce her to new audiences, especially crossover from another direction like MOTS (you could say Mike O is crossing over in the opposite direction to Hayley). I think the only artist I have everything from is Katherine Jenkins, a much easier prospect than Hayley!

Hi everyone I've seen this on the Mike Oldfield website: The exclusive launch for Mike Oldfield’s new album release ‘Music Of The Spheres’ will take place this Friday, 7th March at the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao. The launch event will include a world premiere of the entire album with full orchestra, full choir and Hayley Westenra. The event is guestlist only.
The audio from the premiere will be recorded for an UK iTunes exclusive to promote the album from March 17th. Other countries around the world are also making this available to purchase via iTunes or other digital retailers. Keep checking this website for more details nearer the time.We will be able to listen to the premiere with Hayley Kind regards Colin

Thanks for the information guys! I think this is a fabulous album (don't even ask how I know!) and not only will I be buying it because Hayley's on it - but I would unhesitatingly have bought it anyway. The thing to remember is... think of Tubular Bells as Mike Oldfield's style and Music of the Spheres as a logical development of that style. Only one week to go! Dave

Thanks Martin., yay, he played Hayley's song "On My Heart" this morning! Very nice it was too. By the way, at Amazon UK, this album (on prerelease) is currently the no. 1 classical album, no. 3 prerelease album and overall no. 9 album, it's really motoring now. Also, from music week, all the big UK supermarkets have now scheduled it for one of their promoted albums next week.

Hello! I am a Spanish fan of Mike Oldfield and the past Friday 7 march I had the pleasure to view the concert of presentation of Music of the Spheres in the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao. The performance of Hayley was wonderful!!! She sang in direct of a skillful form, with a precious voice, the two songs of the disc: On my heart and On my heart reprise. And she was very handsome and attractive. You can view and extrack of On my heart live in Bilbao: es.youtube.com/watch?v=EhZg0Vl1JCo (00:27) In addition, after the concert, it took care of to us amiably a group of Spanish fans of Mike Oldfield. It is very likeable and amiable, and we became a photography that you can see here: www.mikeoldfieldblog.com/2008/03/12/una-fotografia-con-hayley-westenra/Also it signed a dedication to us to Spanish fans of Mike Oldfield in a paper of the score of the orchestra: www.flickr.com/photos/mikeoldfieldblog/2324704113/sizes/l/Greeting from Spain. You were very lucky to be at the presentation in Bilbao and I'm very pleased that you enjoyed it and that you liked Hayley. She is a very warm hearted and generous person and enjoys spending time with her fans. There's lots of info about Hayley here and I hope you enjoy your time with us.
We are all getting very excited about "Music of the Spheres".
